I had never heard of Find A Grave until I chanced upon it while doing a generic internet search of my grandfather's name, and was happily surprised to see a picture of his grave marker. I was hooked and signed up. Since then, Find A Grave has allowed me to see many family headstones and markers that I will probably never see in person, and has added several previously unknown details to my family's genealogy records. THANK YOU! to everyone who gives so much of their time and effort to help people they've never even met. I try to reciprocate, as time allows.|
MY GENEALOGY RESEARCH-
NAMES IN THE FAMILY TREE:
Andersdotter, Carlsdotter, Carlson, Cotnam, Deen, Edmunds, Haase, Haskins, Heidtmann, Hicks, Hughes, Jonsson, Leonard, McCaw, McCreary, McGrath, Nilsson, Olmstead, Olson, Olsson, Omstead, Phillips, Reed, Siedentopp, Smith, Solberg, Sykes, Teets, Tisdale, Trede, Walker...so many more. I know all the Scandinavian 'sons and dotters' can be very misleading, but those same names might be in someone else's records as well as mine, so I included them.
PLACES WHERE ANCESTORS SETTLED:
Massachusetts [1621!], New York, Vermont, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska...
Ontario, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba, Canada...
...and please don't hold this against me, but, California. A great place to visit, but it's been a long time since it was a great place in which to live. Get lost, Jerry, you're worse than Arnie.
IF SOME OF THESE NAMES AND PLACES ARE SIMILAR TO YOURS, maybe we have ancestors in common and can compare notes. They came from England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Norway, Sweden, Germany, and Canada. Like most Americans, I am a certified mutt, but most importantly, simply AMERICAN. No hyphens here!

I lived the best periods of Greece.. 1950 ect ...
Very good country, full of history and has wonderful areas for vacations all the sessions but and USA have some excellent states… I remember Columbus Ohio about 1988, when I was Fellow at Medical college of Ohio state University, and of course the quality of Massachusetts.. However if I was young and wanted to emigrate I would go this season to Montana...
When you have exacly the same age with someone, you have almost the same country in time….
Together you lived your adolescence, together pass the door of married life …. Beautiful life full of dreams..

He is in Bellevue Cemetery in Ontarion, CA. He is my husband's gt. grandfather. Can you please transfer him to me?
Lizzie McCaw was my great-grandfather's oldest sister. Woods family info states they were both buried in the Minto Cemetery, so I added Colin there the other day. I'll be glad to transfer him to you if you want.
