Bio and Links
I love to do genealogical research & photography, so becoming a volunteer photographer here was a natural choice. My own family names include Urquhart, Howland/Tilley, Alden/Mullens, Post, Collins, Whitney, etc.

**For those with Island ancestors or relatives, I recommend: as well as the "Martha's Vineyard Antique Photos" Facebook page, and the M.V. Museum and the M.V. Historical Society** Another one is the "Martha's Vineyard Antique Photos" page on Facebook which posts wonderful photos!

If I create a memorial for your ancestor and you'd like it transferred to you, (and it isn't one of my ancestors) I am generally happy to oblige. However, if I email you extra photos and you upload them to new or existing memorials, please note that I'm the photographer.

I am so grateful to others who have created memorials for my family, taken photos, etc.

P.S. I recommend this online date calculator tool:
If you have the date of death and the yr./mo./days of age, you can easily calculate the birth date.

RE: Dr. John Hay
I'm related through John's daughter, Sarah Hay, who was married to George "Dudley" Bradstreet Porter, and from there to Sarah's son, Ashael "Asa" Porter, my 3rd great grandfather, then through his daughter, Hanah "Jane" Shaw, nee Porter. I have never read the Will but am proud he was so progressive in a time when it was unpopular! We must come from good stock! :)

RE: Dr. William Hay
Hello Cousin! So sorry for the lengthy delay in my response, but life kept getting in the way! William Hay was my 6th great grandfather through his son, John Hay (my 5th great) ;)

RE: Nancy A. Hay & Nathan Whitney
My pleasure! There were other Whitneys on the stone with them. Their children perhaps. I went ahead and added them to Find A Grave. Let me know if you'd like them transferred to you. On the sides were Eugelia Whitney Shipley and her husband. Along with Edgar Whitney. The other side was Emelia Whitney Briggs and her husband. Nothing on the back. Hope this is helpful :)

John & Hannah Collins
I'll be glad to look at the lot in Evergreen with the son, John, when the snow goes away! But if you can physically look around the children's graves, my money would be on that Riverside, N. Reading, or Mt. Hope, where 2 of the sons are buried.
Best of luck!

Stilson family
You may enjoy some pictures I added today for the Ira/Mary Stilson family. Also see Georgianna Bourne, another Stilson daughter. It was nice and spooky out there this afternoon! (Sec. F, Evergreen, Portland)

RE: Daniel McKerchner
Can you do this through the "edit" button please? I don't wish to seek them. James

RE: Daniel McKerchner
Can you please add to Daniel McKercher's bio:

He was the son of Daniel McKercher (1818-1897) and Martha Nesbitt (1823-1899). He married 1) Adelaide Louise Gardiner (1867-1859) and 2) Mary A. Roache (1861-1911).

Do you have links for these relatives? I'd rather do it through links than put in bio unless not available. James

RE: Wood siblings
Do you have an email can send it to... I hate to put 9 pages though Find A Grave.

Thanks for the quick reply.
