I am more than happy to make any additions / edits but please, include the FindAGrave Memorial number when not using the edit link. |
If Memorial Number is not provided while I will do my best to accommodate requests I make no promises that the request will get done.
I am happy to add family links.
Due to a recent inappropriate communication (AKA: RUDE) I will take this opportunity to say we are volunteers, we don't get paid for contributing to this site. Please and thank yous go a long way. Be nice to me I will be nice to you. Be rude to me and I just delete your messages and/or put your requests at the bottom of the heap.
I will also take this opportunity to say I have a full-time job so please be patient and I will get to your requests ASAP.
I like to think we work with each other, meaning I don't work you. Ask nicely don't give me orders. Please if I have declined an edit it is because I have other information HOWEVER, I am willing to look at other documentation. While more times than not I accept edits I do not always take someone's verbal word that a name is spelt this way or that way not when I have seen it the way I entered it.

|Elaine Vanderwal||Mary Jane Winkworth Plumb|
Hello, Cindy, I first of all want to say how much I appreciate all your work on Find A Grave.
The Mary Jane Winkworth #158818390 was married 1864 in Ontario, Canada to Samuel Giles #105222600 and then to Eleanah Plumb in 1895 in Stanton, Michigan. She is attached to Samuel correctly but I don't believe she should be attached to William Plumb #158818381.
Her marriage registrations gives her husbands’ names as Samuel Giles and Eleanah Plumb and her death registration has her dying Feb 16, 1906 in McBride, Michigan and buried in TRUFANT Cemetery, Michigan where her 1st husband, Samuel Giles is buried.
Mary Jane Winkworth was born 20 May 1843 according to her birth baptismal registration in Trafalgar, Ontario, Canada. There is no record that she was ever in England nor married to a William Plumb or that she died in England.
The inscription you have posted for Mary Jane Winkworth Plumb # 158818390 in Faringdon Non Conformist Cemetery, England (husband William Plumb #158818381 in same cemetery) would be for a different Mary Jane Winkworth Plumb.
The inscription on her memorial on Find A Grave states Mary Jane died 16 Feb 1908 at 77 years old. Mary Jane, who was married 1st to Samuel Giles and the Eleanah Plumb would have been 77 in 1919 or 1920 not in 1908. Mary Jane’s husband, Eleanah Plumb was still living in Michigan in 1910 census and may be the Eleanah Plumb who died in Washington, USA in 1916. I think it is important that you consider detaching the Mary Jane Winkworth #158818390 in Faringdon Non Conformist Cemetery, England from William Plumb #158818381 (also in that Cemetery). Hope this is helpful. Thank you for all you do to assist in all of our genealogy research. Keep up the good work! Elaine

|M W Bencal||Chick|
Thank you for sharing your touching story about Chick. There are many Angels among us.
Since last emailing you, I found Dr. Meyer's elderly mother and spoke with her on the phone at length. She had an "old-timey" name, and had changed it to a more modern name, of her time, but through my sleuthing skills, I was able to figure this out, and locate her and her phone number. I will be sending her photos and documents.
I am hoping to locate information on her paternal grandfather, who died sometime between the 1900 and 1910 census. I may have found him here on fidagrave in a cemetery in Louisiana close to the coast. I need to do some more research because there are several people in Lousiana about that time with the same name.
It has been very nice meeting you Cindy.

I am so sorry to read that you have had some bad experiences with findagrave volunteers. I too have experience a few rude volunteers, and that is why my contributor name is just my initials and last name.
Call be a crazy genealogist, but late last night I was thinking of my childhood pediatrician, Henry S. Meyer, as he was a very kind and gentle human being. My parents had money problems, and Dr. Meyer was sweet enough to allow my parents to pay their bills over time . . . over a very long time. Even after Dr. Meyer's death, my parents continued to pay their bills out over time to his estate. I wondered what happened to Dr. Meyer. In doing so, I started a tree for him on ancestry.com. Crazy? Yes? Or maybe No?
Dr. Meyer's mom was Selma Dover Meyer, whose memorial you were kind enough to have created in her memory.
I am going to me adding information and links to Caroline's memorial through the edit tab.
Thank you so much for your wonderful work here on findagrave to remember those who have passed.

Thank you for creating the memorial for Louise Driscoll Wenant (107297612). Your memorial states correctly that her cremains are in the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Columbarium (HTLC), along with those of her husband, Leonard, (41673597). A cemetery listing exists on FIndaGrave for the HTLC Columbarium. (See her Mr. Wenant's memorial. I'll try to remember to photograph her name plate on Saturday or Sunday. Blessings, Alice
Thanks for the information!

Thank you Cindy for so kindly adding my father's final resting place to Find-A-Grave. I just wanted to tell you that I added an edit to include his birth date of June 28, 1928. Best wishes, Bill Helene

Thank you. I wasn't really looking for an edit, as I have no proof that he was moved from Mount Olivet to Wunders. That was just something my grandmother told me. I have no reason to doubt her, but I haven't found any record of him at Wunders, either.
