RE: Finding our roots

I have computer problems. The Geek Squad has sent it to see if we can retrieve the info, photos, etc. that are on it. We moved last summer due to my health. My older records are not unpacked. I do want to resolve James and Nancy Downing issue. I am not on Ancestry for too many reasons to go into. I do not ignore people on purpose. I have been extremely ill and reside in a nursing home part-time. I've been without a computer for several months now. Occasionally I get access to a neighbors. I apologize for not answering you right after you left your message. I have two more months of therapy. Please don't give up on me. You have done so much keeping people straight on this Downing issue and other family connections. My information comes from family Bible records and letters, if I recall correctly. If you have actual death certificate, marriage records; then there is a mix-up in my records. I am not perfect and do make mistakes. My genealogy changes with new discoveries and missing links.

Thank you for understanding,
Mary R.

RE: Alfred Baker
I am told by family members that he buried in Irvine, KY (Estill County) but they don't know the name of the cemetery.

RE: Henry Mosley
I notice that you have added Henry Mosley to Roundhole. I wish you had not. I had already added him as Henry B Mosley. It matters because I had spent considerable time linking him to all his children. That required the co-operation of other contributors, one is still pending using my entry. Henry B Mosley is what I wrote down when I surveyed the cemetery in 2009 (one of many visits). I had some reason for that, but I was sent a photo of his stone today and there is no middle initial. I added that photo to Find-a-grave and removed the B in the listing. I also linked him to his parents and that brought forward your links. I'm requesting that you delete your entry and add the death cert of my entry.

RE: Also
KY Birth Records say that the child born Jan 28, 1914 was a boy named William. The informant on dc is Sherman Cook, a neighbor (married to Phronia's 1st cousin). I believe he just misunderstood that the baby was a boy with a name. The registrar is Boyd Mosley, Sherman's brother-in-law and Phronia's double 1st cousin. I believe that says burial is Greasy Creek rather than Greasy Ridge. In either case Roundhole is located on Greasy Creek. It gets it's name from a deep round pool in the creek. The cemetery sits on the ridge across from the pool. There is a stone at Hardy Bottom Cem about 2 miles distant from Roundhole that says 'infant son of WH Baker'. I would have guessed that's William, but that's not on Greasy Cr. The only person alive with intimate knowledge of this is Mona Baker, the widow of WH and Phronia's son Brack. But she's 89 yrs old and has had a bad year to date: surgery for skin cancer, followed by her son's unexpected death, followed by a home invasion. I'm not going to bother her with it.

RE: Also
I noticed that you had added another child for WH and Phronia. I am not surprised. I've found several of those for various people. It's pretty common in the area not to name a still born child.
I'll let you know if I find more discrepancies in your burial places.
Thanks for your cooperation!
