Bio and Links
Bio Photo I've been working on my family tree for nearly 30 years. I am descended from the Daniel Boatwright family of Virginia, through John Daniel Boatwright, a son of John Joseph Boatwright, who moved to Kentucky in the mid 1820s and then purchased land in Illinois in 1839. A few of the surnames I am researching are: Boatright/Boatwright, Fields (of AL), Terry (MS and AL), McCartney, Allen, Brown, and Hayden.

I enjoy photographing cemeteries and will many times create a memorial for photos I have which are not relatives of mine. If any of the Memorials I have added are direct ancestors of yours but are not direct ancestors of mine, please let me know and I will happily transfer the Memorial to you.

A little late, but I wanted to thank you for trying to find my grandmother's headstone.
Appreciate all the effort.

Boatwright Cemetery in Hoyleton IL

Thank you so much for creating memorials for those buried in the Boatwright Cemetery in Hoyleton, IL. The Holley family are my ancestors and relatives, Hugh Holley and Elizabeth West being my 4x-great-grandparents. So I'm betting we're related - 5th cousin or so?!

I was wondering two things. 1) How did you know that Elizabeth Holley's maiden name was "West" as recorded on FindAGrave Mem #s 118483655 and 118488006? and 2) is it difficult to get to the Boatwright cemetery? I'm from Northern IL, but go to Southern IL about once a year and would like to visit this cemetery too.

Any advice you can give is MOST appreciated!

P.S. I love your photo of your black & white "Genealogy assistant"... I have one exactly like yours!

Thank you.
Thank you for looking for the marker of my great grandfather John A Bernard in the Bongarrd Cemetery. I was there as a child and it was a removable metal marker. It's probably long gone now. My Mom and Aunt always wanted to get a headstone for him but were never able to. :(

Thank you for looking
Thank you for looking for a stone for Phyllis Bogan. I suppose it is possible she doesn't have a stone. Thank you for the time you put in searching the cemetery multiply times. I will leave the request up a bit longer while I check other cemeteries in case her memorial is a 'plop' and she isn't buried in this cemetery. Thanks again.

RE: Thank you for the Photo
Thanks again Cynthia.

It truly is a unique stone. I do not know who made it.

I too photograph cemeteries for the Illinois Ancestors Tombstone Project and have not gotten to that one as of yet.

Sincerely yours,

Thank you for the Photo

Thanks for the photo of the headstone of Richard Emerson Find A Grave Memorial# 28759340. Photo looks great and adds much to the memorial. It also confirms my suspicions that it might be a dual headstone.

Might I ask a favor that you add the same photo to his wife's memorial Find A Grave Memorial# 28759339

Thanks again.
