Photo of Ulric Shepherd
Hi!
We are updating (and unfortunately correcting) the information for the Mitchell Cemetery in Harrison County, Missouri, and I stumbled across the photo of Ulric Shepherd on RootsWeb. Everything indicates that you are the originating source of the photo and I would like to ask your permission to include it on the Harrison County GenWeb site.

We'd be happy to credit you if you grant permission. Just let me know how you would like it!

Did you know that he lied to get into the army! Civil War records have him as being born in 1848. He was actually born in November of 1850, which would make him 13 when he enlisted!!!

Thanks much!!

RE: Ulrich Shepherd and Weaver Family
I'm pleased to meet you... and I'm even older than you... graduated in 1964.... I was born in Oklahoma (Pond Creek, north of Enid).. We live in Derby, Kansas, just south of Wichita - I retired from Boeing 8 years ago. My grandfather (Frank Everhart, son of "Doc") died in Fairview when my Dad was about 5 years old. I thought I had been to Beaver but finally figured out it was Buffalo... It's been a long time since I've been through the Oklahoma Panhandle... but if I get the chance, I'd like to see your mother's collection... I'm pleased that you were around to take care of her stuff. After she died I wrote to someone there in Missouri offering to come and get it if they were going to throw it away. Never heard back and have often wondered... Like you, I'm the only one in my family who cares about genealogy... Just got back to researching recently and today I found another Everhart grave in the Cat Creek Cemetery... little Callie Everhart...2 years old... died of dysentery. Problem is, who are her parents... The family mythology says she was the daughter of my Jacob and Anna. They were there, but Anna would have been 60 years old when Callie was born... so there is a rest of this story to be ferreted out.... Good talking to you... hope to make it by for a visit sometime. Mike

Ulrich Shepherd and Weaver Family
Dear K.W.

Hi, Mike Everhart here. I've just joined Find a Grave after seeing your photo of Ulrich Shepherd, and that of Ulrich and Sarah's headstone in the Mitchell Cemetery ... we are apparently related, at least distantly...

My g-grandfather was Calvin Luther "Doc" Everhart, sister of Sarah (Everhart) Shepherd...He's buried in the Cats Creek Cemetery... someone took a photo of the headstone and put it on this web site.

In the 1990s, I was working with Mary Weaver up until she died. She had a tremendous amount of family information and I miss her a lot... One of the pictures she shared with me was of Ulrich and Sarah seated in front of the house... it matched one that I had... She also had a photo of my grandmother, Mary Jane (McKay) Everhart that I had never seen before...

Anyway, thanks for posting the pictures... I'd be happy to share any that I have. I still looking for family in Missouri... and would appreciate any leads...

Regards
Mike Everhart
