Bio Photo Started genealogy when assisting my son with a Boy Scout Merit Badge about 1999. Cried when I found my grandparents and Uncle Bobby's headstones on here. (Bobby died when he was three.) Michelle

Please feel free to use pictures and information that I post for your personal and private genealogical purposes only (other than Ancestry)and please give credit. HOWEVER, PLEASE DON'T RE-UPLOAD MY FAMILY PICTURES AND RESEARCH TO ANCESTRY. ANY PICTURE THAT I HAVE UPLOADED TO FIND A GRAVE of my family, I HAVE ALSO UPLOADED TO ANCESTRY. JUST FIND IT ON ANCESTRY AND ATTACH IT TO YOUR TREE WITH THE ORIGINAL DATE AND SUBMITTER. When I fulfill photo requests, I try to get everyone in the same plot and provide extra information to the family. It helps me and I hope that it helps others. Right now, I'm working on Oak Grove in Americus, Sumter County, Georgia and hope to branch out to other area cemeteries in the future.

Also, I am happy to transfer relatives to family members who will care for them even if you are not close relatives. Obviously, the closer relative asking has the right to care for a memorial before a distant relative but the important thing is for a memorial to be taken care of, added to and for it to reflect the life that it memorializes. Please use the edit tab to request changes or transfers. I don't generally transfer my own relatives unless you are within guidelines and I am not or there is a really good reason.

Thank you for sending obituaries but I do not usually add them unless I wrote them or have permission from the author, funeral home or newspaper that they appeared in. If an obituary meets those criteria, the names of living people will be removed. All of this is per Find A Grave guidelines.

Hi,
No, I'm not related to any one with any version of the spelling of Gattain.

If I'm not mistaken, they are linked...Jesse was Joseph Jesse, buried in Jones Cemetery. Right?

RE: Odie Gattain
You're welcome.

He is not buried with the rest of the Gattains. He is off to himself. I've been looking for him for a long time, thinking he had to be with the rest of the Gattains and probably just didn't have a headstone. Couldn't believe it when I finally saw the marker. Cindy

Michelle Andrews
Hello! I am about to fulfill your photo request but unfortunately, it is a photo of the area, only. Her grave is unmarked. The group which I am a part of ("Woodlawn Volunteers") has already photographed all visible markers in the Garden of Peace section. I found her grave based on the number plugs on the ground.

I had two like this in the Garden of Peace today. The cemetery is in really bad shape because they don't have funds for water. It is a very old cemetery and rarely has new burials.

I am sorry this was not a more positive outcome. I am always disappointed when the grave is unmarked.

Best regards,

B.J.

According to the photos on the Arlington National Cemetery website, both names are on the headstone (John and Julia).

RE: William Reed
His wife's name is not on the stone so she is not buried with him.

RE: re: Elias Helsel
You're quite welcome, glad to help. Apparently, this marker was unearthed within the year or so, as it wasn't there last time I photographed the older section of Obetz.
