Always remember to live for the day.|
Don't take anyone or anything for granted.
Listen to the elderly they are wise beyond time.
Take time to enjoy a sunrise, a sunset and watch the bird in flight.
Simplify, simplify, simplify....
I am now living in Cape May County, NJ, and do not have immediate access to NY inquiries like before, but I will help connect the dots when possible.
Please help with
"Veterans Grave Preservation" We are cleaning up the old cemeteries in our country, The United States of America with hopes of documenting all of the American War Veterans buried here in our towns, many of whom where born outside of the USA. With the 150th Anniversary of the of the Civil War and the 70th anniversary of WWII already behind us, several memorial events have taken place around the country with hopes of engaging all history enthusiasts. I encourage all who can help to do so, even if it just means fundraising or brushing the stone a US Veteran so their name is legible and we can place a flag to say Thank You. Boys and Girls Scouts, High School seniors and anyone interested can sign up for community service and give back a little something to those who came before and paved the way. This is our way of saying Thank You and giving respect where respect is due while taking a historical tour back in time. Go to your nearest VFW Post American Legion or and ask if you can help on Memorial Day or Veterans Day or any day.
I am sure everyone will enjoy navigating the pages of history. Photos and stories, names and dates, friends and loved ones, you will connect the present with the past in more ways than one.
A pleasure ...

|Juliaom||RE: Oliver Besley inquiry|
Thanks for the help on Oliver Besley. The large stone with plaque is for James Besley, and it states Oliver, Bartholomew, and Oliver C.
Maybe the stone is just for James, and the rest are not buried in Fantinekill Cem.
My children's line goes thru Ingraham's to Samuel Coles Besley 1781-1845, and his father Oliver Besley 1744/41 NY, died 1835. I have died in Greenfield, Ulster Co. NY.
Wife Elethere Chessman 1746-1810, is buried at the Old Methodist Churchyard, Greenfield, Ulster Co, NY.
It would seem that possibly her spouse Oliver would be buried there in Old Methodist, with her and not in the Fantinekill Cem.
There are several Cheesman Family Heritage and Cheesman Dossier books we might check.
I guess the wills need to be checked.

You're very welcome! Honestly, I was leaving the cemetery after photographing other stones and happened to see De Witt's, and remembered the long standing request. Have a good New Year !!

|Mark Steffenhagen||Eva Huggins|
Hi Laura, I just added a memorial and photo for Eva Huggins who is buried in Lakewood Cemetery in Lake City, MN. She is buried next to Andrew Huggins who might be her husband. I notice you manage the memorial for Andrew, are you related and do you want me to transfer the memorial for Eva to you?
|R.C.||RE: Lukyanovsky Cemetery in Kiev|
I have included just one grave in that cemetery. I do have contacts in kiev, if needed be, But havent ever asked anyone there to do some research there. So, in reality no, can't be of service, but, if its something that is ultra necessary, i can try..

I am doing research for my wife's DAR application. Gersham is her 3rd great grandfather. I have verified the information I sent you.

|Ulster Hoffman||Wawarsing Cemetery|
I saw that you added a photo of the Wawarsing Cemetery in Ulster County. Can you advise of the specific address of this cemetery. Thank you so much!
|JHM||RE: HORACE G. KIMBLE|
Thanks Lisa, I can probably add a few comments on Horace's bio, but nothing of real significance. Or proven really, I will try resending the original message I sent you although it looks like I had the address I used, I must look carefully. Again my thanks. Perhaps there will be a family photo or a cousin, that could fill in some blank spots for me, as you have already done

Lara, the email address that I used to write wasn't valid, where can I send you note of thanks and some information on this gentleman, I believe to be my husband's maternal grandfather.

That is so kind of you! I am sorry but it was not me that sponsored their memorials. If you want to send me the memorial numbers I am willing to help as much as I can.
You are awesome to do this!
