NOTE: AT THIS TIME, IT'S NOT POSSIBLE|
FOR ME TO BE ONLINE DUE TO MY HUSBAND'S
HEALTH. I DO APPRECIATE YOUR
LOVELY TOKENS YOU LEAVE FOR MY FAMILY.
PLEASE KEEP OUR FAMILY IN YOUR THOUGHTS
AND PRAYERS. MAY GOD BLESS
EACH OF YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.
I want to thank each of you for your thoughts
and prayers. Your kindness means a great deal
to me and my family.
I'm retired, doing genealogy work & enjoy helping on the findagrave.com website. I'm a proud Okie., born & raised in Oklahoma. I am of Cherokee decent, as my Great Grandfather and Grandfather signed the Dawes Rolls. I have been doing my 'Long' family tree for years and have found so many cousins online.
It has certainly been interesting and most enjoyable meeting and hearing from new distant family members. I have learned so much about
my ancestors and their lives down through the generations, I hope to perserve their memories for future generations to come. This is why I like working on the findagrave site, hoping to help others looking for their loved ones. I have found others to be very helpful and kind to share information.
My husband and I are enjoying our church, family & early retirement.
Aren't the Grands Fun?!!!
We have two beautiful granddaughters.
If I have made any mistakes, or
you would like to have your family

I want to also say thank you for taking the time to visit my loved ones memorial pages and leaving a note for them. God Bless You

I am so glad I happened upon this. Trying to do this from my cell but cousin Phyllis if you're able to get this message send me an e-mail. I was talking about my memories of Afton just a week or so ago.
Wishing youse the best in Stanford for Don's treatments. Maybe U won't be gone very long this time around.
As always Phyllis, my pleasure to flower UR loved ones, even though I'm also not online as much as I would like to be.
Best regards with smiles & blessings and 'Happy Mother's' day to you also.

Phyllis, I wish I could help but I have no idea who to contact for information change...I haven't tried contacting anyone for year but hopefully someone will read your post on my page and can help you.
Phyllis, y'all are always in our prayers...keeping you both close to our hearts during the up coming treatments. I haven't been on here much, so busy trying to get all our steers worked and shipped to summer grass in the Flint Hills.
Please stay in touch, sweet friend.
Love & Hugs

Its been awhile! Hope this finds you and yours healthy and happy.
I found an article recently and thought you might enjoy having the info. Its an old article, and mentions things like "The village of Bernice" and "Grand River". The oldest date I find in it is from 1922, tho I am sure it was written well after that. However, it does mention a few different Bunches and Ballards. I remember Zoe, she is mentioned and her husband. (I knew her, Grandmother helped her with housekeeping due to her blindness when I was very young, I would often go with her.) Gove Bunch, whom I also remember, and a few others. I would not be surprised if you didn't know a few more of the folks listed. They are all from Delaware county.
Percy Wyley as well as W. H. Ballard are both listed on page 2 (I believe Zoe is listed in both?)It confuses me somewhat but seems to be the same person, maybe you will understand.
Please let me know if you do!
Have a wonderful day, and God bless.

Thanks for thinking of me. If it is the 1910 Census, I already have it. I hope you are doing well. I will be traveling out to Kansas and Oklahoma next month.

Hi Phyllis, Sorry for the delayed response! I wish there was as much information about Martin as seems to exist for his brother Thomas. My ancestor is supposed to have taken his name from his mother, Marty Martin, wife of Joshua Atchley. There is a legend I encountered that said she was the daughter of a "Franco Martino", an Italian! But this came with a warning that there was no evidence at all for that. In a marriage document for Martin O. Atchley, his name is spelled Martino Atchley, which may be a mistake, or perhaps his first name was Martino and it changed over time. These are intriguing questions. I will have to look again at the Bible pages of my ancestor, Moses Wyatt, which has some Atchley dates. Have you seen this? I have been away from studying this branch of my family, so this will help get me back into it! I had never heard that Mary Martin had been on the Mayflower, interesting!

RE: Rhoda M. (Long) Neff
Rose Hill Cemetery, Willard, Greene, MO
Sorry it has taken me so long to respond. I lost my mother 3 weeks ago and have been trying to deal with that loss and everything that accompanies it.
I am President of the Rose Hill Cemetery Board. I checked our records and Rhoda's birth date is recorded as 1865. I went to the cemetery to check the stone and it is somewhat worn and almost difficult to read but I believed it read 1868. As I love a good mystery and being able to try to solve it, I began my research. I have come across the 1870 US Census, page 37, in Cass Township, MO, under her father's name, George Long. Rhoda is listed as being 2 years of age, which would make her birth year 1868. I have updated my records in the cemetery book to reflect the stone info and the census records. I was unable to locate a death certificate for her but those can be difficult to find prior to 1910.
I also got to checking the dates for her infant son, Orvil. They were listed on Find-A-Grave as b. 3/25/1878 d. 7/26/1878, which would have made Rhoda 10 years old at the time of his birth. The correct dates are: b. 3/25/1887 d. 7/26/1888.
I have sent edits on both memorial pages to correct the information. If I can be of further assistance, please let me know.
