Olive Poulson Dahlin Nelson # 142580
I believe that the information for this grave have multiple problems.

On the headstone it says "born in Tree, Sweden". On the find-a-grave record it says "born in Treo, Denmark".

For various reasons, I think that Olives original name in Swedish was "Olu Åkesdotter", born at the time stated on the headstone in the parish of Norrvidinge, in the southernmost part of Sweden. In this parish there is a small village named Trää. Although this name actually refers to something else, the spelling of the village name is almost exactly the same as the swedish name for a tree.

So why does it say her maiden name was Poulsen? At this time when Olu was born most children were given patronymic last names. Being the daughter of Åke, Olu carried the last name Åkesdotter, or Åkes-daughter. At the time when Hans and Olu and their children emigrated, the tradition was changing encouraged by the authorities to use family names, which meant using the same last name as the parents, usually the fathers. The father of Olu, Åke carried the last name was Påhlsson, which easily transforms into Poulsen. The letter "å" is pronounced similar to the letter "o".

Olus parents were;

Åke Påhlsson Pedrillo (I have no idea where Pedrillo comes from)
born 1793 in Norra Skrävlinge parish
dead 1856 in Norrvidinge parish

married 1815 in Norrvidinge parish to;

Anna Jönsdotter
born 1791 in Reslöv parish
dead 1864 in Norrvidinge parish

Olu had 10 siblings, three of which I see had children of their own. Nor sure if any of them survive to this day.

One of Olus siblings was named Påhl Åkesson Delin. Where the name "Delin" comes from I don't know, it has no particular meaning that I am aware of. But nevertheless it is close or the same as "Dehlin" that Olu carried.

I am born at the edge of the parish of Norra Skrävlinge, close to the neighbouring parish of Norrvidinge. In my youth I used to ride my bicycle past or through the village of Trää. My mother is born just a short distance away. So I know the locale fairly well.

I am related through my mother to the Bunderson and Ahlstrom families that like Olu converted to mormonism and emigrated. I don't know yet if I am related to Olu or Hans, but it is not unlikely, and I intend to find out.

Regards
Mats

I photographed the monument and confirmed that the dates on the headstone are the same as you had on your request. The death certificate however has his death date as Jan. 15, 1911. I believe the headstone is probably correct.

The volunteer who claimed,reported a problem that she couldn't down size her cell phone photo and wanted to know how to do it, I went ahead an photographed the stone with my camera and entered it on the memorial.

Charlotte Skinner Day Rogers
You requested a photo for the Charlotte, who is buried in the Kanosh, Utah, cemetery. Her headstone has already been photographed, but the name thereon is simply Charlotte Day. I suppose the information and names need to be combined so that this request won't occur in the future.

Kerstine Collings
RE: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=37889851

Thank you for the parental links for her. I was wondering where they were
buried.

Kerstine Marie Christiansen Collings is the great grandmother of my ex wife, Ellen Kay Bailey Bailey. Her grandmother was Elda Marie Collings, daughter
of Lyman James Collings and Kerstine Marie Christiansen Collings. Ellen's mother and father are still alive and living in Wendell, Idaho.

It is a small world!

Anna Nelson
You requested a photo of the headstone for Anna Nelson in the Mt Pleasant Sanpete Utah cemetery. Do you have any other info on her....spouse or children and their dates. There is a whole group of Nelson/Neilson headstones in that same plot. Any other info would help to see if the Anna buried there is her. -- Becky

RE: Reply to Photos of Trena
According to my research, Lewis and Trena Black had a daughter named Sarah Agartha Ellen Black. Sarah married George Francis Moore Crawforth. They had a daughter named Mary Cathleen Crawforth. Mary Crawforth is my Great Grandmother.
