DO NOT USE MY EMAIL IN THE BIO FOR A SOURCE WHEN ADDING MY EDIT INFORMATION. It adds an incredible amount of spam in my mail due to web robots. "Volunteer 46947920" or my name will suffice nicely.

This was a wondrous site where the upcoming generations can easily find their history and ancestors. Even after we are gone, our work will remain. Thank you, Findagrave.

My tree was done generations ago, thanks to my ancestors. Now my time is spent on documenting cemeteries, research, linking memorials, reuniting families, and connecting the dots.
My virtual flowers now represent edits.

We are all simply the guardians of those we have kindly added until their family comes along. I am eager to transfer anyone who is not family to family. BUT, request through the system, not here, not email! Demands will be ignored, "please" is simply common courtesy.

I take my heritage, 'graving' and documentation very seriously and most respectfully. Accuracy is of the most utmost importance to me, not who 'owns' a memorial. If I have made an error, please, please, let me know, politely. If you are rude, I will ignore you.

** I spend over half my time on Findagrave JUST sending edits to admin for duplicates. PLEASE double check before you add a historical person from the 1600's or back. Most likely, they have already been added.

** PLEASE read the FAQ concerning BURIALS UNKNOWN. They are to be used for RECENT deaths only, not your 176th great grandfather whose burial is 'not located yet.' I adhered to the rules, please do the same. I will not link to an unknown burial.

** If your pictures are crooked, of poor quality, out of focus, too dark to read, taken at night, shadowed, or the stone is covered in dirt or weeds, or your finger was in front of the lens, I will add my photo on the memorial. I apologize, I do not intend to offend. It is not out of disrespect for the other photographer, it is out of respect for the deceased and the family who might appreciate a good photo of the stone. Please have the gumption and consideration to post only decent, well thought out photos.

**USE THE MEMORIAL EDIT/SUGGESTION OPTION ON THE MEMORIAL you want updated for updates requests, transfer requests, or general inquiries for ANY memorial, it gives me easy access to the memorial in question, I have entered thousands. I will Ignore and delete suggestions, requests and updates and inquiries left here or in email.

RE: J. Margaret
I regard it also as the "known as" name. I had at one point put J[essie], to clarify what the J. was for -- I think that was the first thing you weighed in on!

I never understand why she didn't just drop the "J." as she hated Jessie so much. She had no name until she was two, and was simply known as "Baby". Then an exasperated cousin named her "Jessie". At which point both her parents confessed they hated Jessie -- as it turned out, her father had wanted to name her after his mother, Margaret, but was afraid his wife might object. It turned out she didn't give a whit (at least it wasn't Jessie). So nobody used the Jessie, and for things like check writing and gravestones she was J. Margaret. I never knew her cousin, but she must have been a powerful personality that nobody dared to drop the Jessie completely. Margaret's older brother (you would have thought people would only have made such a fuss over a first baby) was called Hal, went by S.Hal and was named Samuel Hal after his father. The first initial was apparently a family naming convention.

To further make matters interesting, J. Margaret married a man whose father and grandfather were named Jesse. Poor thing -- she just couldn't get away from it.

Anyway, thank you for your interest

Dear Anne,

You are welcome. I sort of felt obligated to since they are my distant relatives. Peace and Blessings,

Benjamin Rice Jr. Conway, Mass.
Thank you for visiting this memorial. I have accepted your edits for birth info and "Jr." however I declined the suggested link to Benjamin Rice of Marlborough as based on what I have found it seems unlikely this is correct Benj Rice. Suggested link wife's name does not match Susanna Weeks vs. Sarah Green; seems suggested link in Marlboro their entire lives but the memorial's birth is indicated to be in Conway. Seems likely that the father of this memorial is the Benjamin Rice b. c.1745 d. in Conway Mass. 8 April 1811. I may have missed something, send me another edit if you have further details.
kind regards, thank you for your contributions to Find A Grave

RE: William de Vere
Ah thank you Anne for the explanation, and I appreciate everything you've posted for biographies of our shared ancestors. I wish I had all this information when I spent a month living in London, 4 years ago!
