I was born in Vaiden, MS, on Dec. 31, 1954 to Alf Trotter Collins and Juanita Hambrick Collins.|
I lived in Vaiden, MS until 1979, Winona, MS until 1981, when I moved to Jackson, MS. In 1990, I moved to Florence, MS, where I still reside.
I have two wonderful sons, Sean and Cody, and I worked as a Level 2 Computer Field Technician for AmSouth Bank, In-House Technician for Trustmark Bank and Field Technician for CompuCom servicing 10 Lowe's stores in Mississippi.
I have an A.A. Degree in Pre-Law; a B.S. Degree in History with a Minor in English; and a Master of Social Sciences with an emphasis in History.
I have written and maintain 240+ web pages, including listings of the burials in the Vaiden Mississippi Cemetery (White) and the Vaiden Community Cemetery (African-American).
So far, my family history has been traced back to my 14th Generation Grandfather, John Collins I, who was the keeper of the Gael (prison) for King Charles I of England (son of James I - of the King James Bible fame). Other relatives include another King (Elvis).
Other hobbies include motorcycles, making music as a drummer, historical research, adding entries to Find-a-Grave (since 08/11/2000), and watching and collecting DVDs.
PLEASE CHECK FIRST TO SEE IF ENTRIES HAVE ALREADY BEEN ADDED AND MAKE SURE THAT ANY MARKER PHOTOS AND DATES ARE LEGIBLE.

Ask her who he is buried by, there are two with very old temporary maker holders, no name left. There are some huge holly bushes,, he could be inside one of those too. I will keep him in mind when I go there.

Thank you, Ron, for the transfer. Still would love to know what prompted you to start the memorial with so little info. Addison has been my brick wall for my Ellis line. Thanks, again and take care.

Hi Ron - that would be so much appreciated if you transferred this memorial to me. My mem # is 49108122. Thank you for that. Maybe someday we will find out how we are relatives.

Hello Ron - I am curious why you initiated this memorial for Addison Ellis. Obviously there is no burial site or b or d dates. My Addison was born in 1799 in SC according to the 1850 U S census, and died Jan 1860 possibly in Montgomery, MS.
This memorial could possibly be my distant grandfather. The spouse matches his second wife, Matilda Self. And the daughter you show is one of possibly 6 children born to Addison & Matilda.
Are you related to this family? I am related to Addison Ellis and Celia Fuller. They had 4 children before she died in 1831.
Thank you for any information you may be able and willing to offer me.
My name is Sheri Anderson and I live in IF, ID.

The Oliver Lewis you list as a son of James H. and Nancy Thrailkill Lewis is the Oliver Monroe Lewis (14239917) buried in Caddo Parish, Louisiana, in Black Bayou Cemetery. He married Angeline Emmons, daughter of Shadrick and Lavisa Carter Emmons.

Dear Ron --
I was intrigued to find your memorial to William McCorkle (1696-1760) at Find-A-Grave. I am a McCorkle, and although I have visited Scotland and commuunicated directly with Fr. Louis Wellington McCorkle, I have been unable to document the precise dates and the relationships among those early American McCorkles.
I do know that the memorials include "calculated relationship".
Please share the factors that entered into your calculations when you put together these related memorials. I am eager to follow in your footsteps!
Let me know if you want a non-public exchange (I can send my email address) and give a nice genealogical subject line so I can fish your message out of my filters if it gets caught there.
Thank you so much for your efforts.
Nancy J. McCorkle Miller

That would be so cool Ron.
Thank you ever so much !
My mom is from Mississippi (dad was stationed at Kessler AFB for his basic training when he met her, got married and brought her back to Wisconsin).
I have just recently started in research of her side, and the discoveries are so very exciting for me.

I submitted some edits for this family (James Monroe Wright is my gr-gr-grandfather). The supporting facts include the 1880 US census, which shows James and Narcissa had the following children (who are not noted in any of your Find A Grave entries as related to these two)
Charley - age listed as 9 in 1880 (would put his year of birth as 1871) same as Dr. Charles E. Wright Find A Grave # 5557273
Zula Wright - age listed as 8 in 1880 census - have not yet found where she is buried.
Edwin Wright listed as age 5 in 1880 census (year of birth should be 1875) same as J Edwin Wright Find A Grave # 5557278 also buried in same cemetery as James Monroe and Narcissa
Anna Dora is already attached to her parents
Mattie Wright Ray - shows age as 5 months in 1880 her dob is 01-01-1880 she is my gr-grandmother.
I have not found her burial place yet.
