Some of my ancestors were the original patentees/inhabitants of what is now Washington, D.C., namely the Young, Beall, Wade, Magruder, McCormick, and Carroll families. I have been fortunate to have had a grandmother and a second great aunt who passed down much of our family history. These families are all on my Mother's side. My Father was a Quaker, so if you are related to the old Quaker families of Stockham, Lippincott, Warrington, Borton, Burrough, Jennings, etc. we are certain to be cousins.
