Bio and Links
Bio Photo I'm a military brat who finally settled in Layton, Utah. My family originally comes from Allentown and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and my husband's family hails from Michigan. I've been an amateur genealogist for about 10 years now. I really love this site because I feel I can give back to those who have helped me by helping those who need help. I really enjoy visiting cemeteries. It's quiet and peaceful. It gives me time to relax, get some fresh air and exercise.

RE: Otto and Jennie Hertzke
Yes, this website has helped me out too, so I thought I would "give back" by taking some photos.

RE: Hertzne versus Hertzke
Hi Chris,
I will try..but don't think I can remove it. I have maintenance for it..add additional information...but that is it. The person who created the memorial is no longer involved. So maintenance of his memorials was turned over to me, I put in a request to find a grave.

RE: Wiliam Hertzke Picture Request
Hi Chris, My friend Gwyn is managing the other William and I know she will be glad to accommodate you. I did search for Edward Hertzke and the cemetery records indicate the plot (WE0607) is ASSUMED. I did not find his grave at this plot, but there were several discrepancies with other burials in that plot. I will search the rest of that section (1 acre)as the weather gets better. The Pennsylvania Dutch (German) say MACH'S GUT which translates to "Go and Make Good" / I wish you Well

Forgot to mention that I will change the cemetery records if you decide this is the correct spelling.

Wiliam Hertzke Picture Request
Hi Chris,
I took the picture of soldier William Hertzke and noticed there is a similar memorial under a different spelling. See William Hertzne 24104156. I will leave it to you to resolve the correct entry. The cemetery records are as follows:
WE0970.07 Hertzne William 20 Jan 1920 Cook Med. Det. Cook Med. Det. WWI

What is her correct name? You have Armstrong. Calcutt and Sills is on the stone.

Thanks K.

We have a very devoted/efficient Find A Grave team locally. I wanted to be certain that you got custody of the memorial before a stranger established it.
