|Sandra Ferris||J is for Joseph|
We have not been able to link this grave to John Allen and it appears to be Joseph.
We have found Joseph D Allen listed in the Civil War Roster for the 91st Company I, but John Allen is not on any Civil War list. And Joseph is listed to be from Roodhouse. Joseph's obituary links him to the area. It also stated that he died at the State Veteran's Home in Quincy.
We have not been able to find much on John, but we found Amanda Huff's obituary that stated she died at her daughter's home in Medora and was buried in the Witt Cemetery in Rockbridge.

I do apologize for my error. Thank you for linking my maternal Great grandmother to her parents.
|Cheryl Ayres||Re: Re: Duplicates|
Thanks, really appreciate the help. I just sent a e-mail. Hopefully this can be resolved. Haven't had this problem before. Thank goodness ancestry.com doesn't update the memorials I wouldn't have had the proof otherwise. I don't want the contributor to get in trouble but there has to be something done on these unknown memorials. Too many people have been taking advantage of the contributors who have done there homework.

Which email do I use to report this the edit or info e-mail?
|Cheryl Ayres||Re: Re: Henry A Shaw|
I just checked Ancestry.com his memorial is listed on the Findagrave Global, at Sea & other location on their website, this means they were unknowns. I know now for sure his was a unknown & he changed it. Mine was lised as Findagrave Canada which means in a cemetery.
|Cheryl Ayres||Re: Abigail Shaw Duplicate|
I always check the cemetery before adding. If you look on her husband's memorial on my memorial you will find 3 photos of his grave of which 1 was from the contributor of the other Abigail Shaw. Note 13 of his 37 Shaws he added have unknown burial locations. His photo was uploaded to my Henry A Shaw in November,2016 while the others were posted in April & August 2016 the photo added in April would have notified me then if mine was a duplicate. Both the April & August photos do not appear on his memorial. I cannot prove it but I believe his memorial was unknown & he changed it in November,2016 when he found my memorial knowing full well that his should have been deleted even though his was created in 2014 as an unknown memorial & mine in the proper cemetery would have superceded his by the rules. I have had this happen multiple times & have been nice & deleted mine. I would have also noticed when I added the links to Abigail parents that there was another, there weren't any. I have unlinked my memorial to her parents because I realized that they were unknown memorials & I don't like linking to unknowns. Henry & Abigail are my 4th great grandparents & I will not delete my memorials in this case. I do appreciate you letting me know & usually I oblige but not this time I am standing my ground when I know I am right.
I do not like leaving public messages. How else might I contact you?
