I am a photo volunteer for Western N.Carolina primarily Asheville and surrounding towns.|
I am just starting out and will be adding memorials to my list hopefully about twice a week.
If you find a person on my list and they are related to you and you want the memorial transferred to you, click Edit tab, then click Suggest a Correction, and request transfer. That way I know I'll be transferring the correct person to you.
I will NOT transfer my immediate relatives. That is back 4 generations according to Find A Grave. I would be more than happy to share it, and always love to meet new relatives.
"I Appreciate Findagrave.Com"
Your tombstone stands among the rest;
neglected and alone
The name and date are chiseled out
on polished, marbled stone
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn
You did not know that I'd exist
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
in flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
one hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
and come to visit you.

|Cecil Burns Murdock||Burns Family Washington Co. KY|
I'm a family Descendant from Conrad Burns. Recently had Family Tree DNA done. Results Show Scotland & Ireland as origin country. Haplogroup R-M 198. Working on Burns ancestors, and located several Cemetery's with my people buried, Washington, Nelson, Bullitt, Anderson, Spencer, Mercer Counties, Kentucky. Will wait until spring to work a few Cemetery's. The Burns Cemetery on Chaplin Rd. will need the most labor. I now have 73 Burns descendants in my Data Base. Would like to communicate with you Harriet about Phillip Burns a American Revolutionary War soldier? Do have the immigrant Burns that first arrived to American. It seems that would be Conrad Burns, would you have sources on that information? By the way my residence is Louisville, Kentucky.

|Eugene Watson||Charlotte Anne McKay MacDonald|
I scrolled down and found the 2013 messages I sent you. I found her, along with three of her children, one of which was Donald, my Great Grandfather, in the Caldwell County 1880 census. I have created a memorial for her in the Koeglar Hill cemetery in Caldwell county, Texas, there are two other McKay's buried there in that abandoned cemetery. Her name in that census is misspelled Scharlott.
I've tried to muster up help to restore the cemetery, without any luck.

Hello, thanks for making contact but I need to know which memorial you are referring to on the McKay family. It must have been an old request from me. I'd be glad to help, I just need more info on which memorial.
|Charlotte Digby||RE: Carswell Name|
Thank you, Julia.
I have a picture of James W. Carswell in a Navy uniform. On the back of the picture is written:
"James W. Carswell SH-2
aboard the USS Horace A. Bass at sea just our from Korea."
I also have another picture of a Lillie Mae Carswell and the back of the picture is written wife of James W. Carswell. My mother had also written on the picture that she was a distant cousin of mine. I believe her maiden name was Ware and she was a niece to my grandfather - Murry Brown Moore. Her mother may have been a Carrie Mae Moore or a Cora Moore, I am not for sure. I had thought I might be able to find some family of James that could give me some insite on this branch of the family and in turn I might be able to get more information on my grandfather and his parents. My father died when I was four and I didn't have a lot of contact with his family through the years. My mother died in 2010 and I've been going through old pictures, etc. All the aunts with the exception of one have also passed away. As you can see, I am trying to get information through the back door!
I appreciate any help. I know it may be a long shot but you never can tell.
Charlotte Moore Digby
|Ben Elliott||RE: Re: Flynt Family Cemetery: Rural Hall, NC|
I believe the correct spelling of her name is Pheletia Flynt rather than Felicity as I originally entered.

Hello Julia. I received a message from you on 10/02/16 re: the above referenced cemetery.
However, I have no record of inquiring about it.
Oddly enough, I have visited this cemetery & am quite interested in Felicity Flynt in particular.
However, I have no record of communication with you about it.
Might you have any info on Felicity?
|Sandy Whittington||Ransom Cloud and Katherine|
Hi cousin -- I'm the 3rd great grandchild of Katherine's brother John and his wife, Anna Van Horn. Always good to find another cousin.
|Ronald Templeton||James Templeton, Memorial 10886266|
The James Templeton buried in Iredell County is not James Templeton Junior. George Templeton and Joseph Templeton were not the brothers the James buried in Iredell.
Per NC 1778 tax records James Templeton Junior was born by, at least, 1762 and probably closer to the births of his brothers George and Joseph. James Junior eventually went to White County, TN, where his 1816 will is available.
The James buried in Iredell was the son for John Templeton and Margaret Graham Templeton. Per Ramsey genealogy, he married Mary Ramsey on January 21, 1805. Mary was the daughter of David Ramsey and Margaret Niblock. This Mary is the one buried in Iredell county whose tombstone states she was the wife of James Templeton.
|Eugene Watson||RE: McKay Family, Texas|
I am related to the McKay family through my GGGrandmother, Charlott McKay, who married my GGGrandfather Archibald MacDonald.
I am investing my time, now, in finding her grave site. I'm sure she, along with my Grandfather Donald McDonald lived and farmed, in the area of a cemetery I am focusing on, the Koeglar Hill cemetery, between San Marcos and Lockhart.
Virginia and Olivia are related to Charlott, cousins.
|Eugene Watson||McKay Family, Texas|
Hello, I am working on my GG Grandmother's family Find A Grave links here in Hays and Caldwell Co. Tx., and found your memorial for Olivia Duncan McKay. Very nice. Are you related to the McKay family? There is a duplicate memorial I have found, and just received a transfer of that memorial to me. I will request that it be taken down, and would like to know if you will transfer your memorial over to me to maintain, if you are not related. I would love to hear how you attained all the details on Olivia.
My email address is firstname.lastname@example.org
Thank you for your help, Eugene Watson
