Parents of Margaret Ramsey Vliet???
HelloÖ Came upon your Find-A-Grave page for Margaret Ramsey (wife of William Vliet) and was excited to see that you had names for Margaret's parents:
Abraham Van Dike and Ida Stryker Van Dike.

However, Iím a bit confused as to how a woman born Margaret RAMSEY would have a father with the surname VAN DIKE.

As Iím doing research for someone who is a descendant of Margaret Ramsey, I hope you'll be able to reply via my regular email:

Rita Chesterton (in NJ)

What is your evidence that Ann Harris' maiden name was Covert? BTW, you also have her son James Jr. (died 1813) as her husband, but James Sr. (who died in 1794) is her husband. Connell

William Armstrong (1803 - 1856) Memorial# 50712100
The following obit on your flower for William should be removed as per Find A Grave guidelines. I suggest submitting it as a SAC for his biographical information.

DIED - In Seneca, on the 27th ult., of apoplexy, Mr. William Armstrong. Thus has passed away another of the pioneer settlers, who, suffering many privations, cleared the forests of Western New York, and made this wilderness to "blossom as the rose." We have been proud to recognize Mr. Armstrong as a friend and patron from the first issue of the Gazette, to the day of his death; have known him as an upright, honorable man, against whom not a breath of hatred or malice could ever justly be directed. The attachments between him and his immediate relatives were of the strongest tie, and at the family hearthstone he found his greatest delight and enjoyment. His decease, following close upon that of his respected and beloved brother, George Armstrong, has made the bereavements of the family peculiarly sad and inconsolable. They are commended to the guardianship of our Heavenly Father, who doth not, except for wise purposes, "grieve the children of men." Geneva Gazette 14 November 1856

Thanks, Buddy Leech

Hannah Allen Craig # 58204619
Hello, and thank you so much for all your work on this site! I have been doing some research into Hannah's family and have discovered that she is attached to the wrong father on this memorial.

The man listed as her father, David Allen, was married to only two women - and his first marriage was in 1711, five years after this Hannah was born.

Sarah Hayward is one of his two known wives and she is a descendant of William White, hence a part of the Mayflower families. She is referenced in the silver Mayflower book, Vol. 17 pages 32-35, keys on.

Mayflower lists Sarah as having 2 husbands: 1. John Grosvenor m. 1709 2. David Allen m. 1711

And besides Sarah, Mayflower only lists one other wife for David: Hannah ----- (who was named in a 1748 deed).

And the 4 children listed as those of David and Sarah - David b. 1713 Adoniram b. 1715 John b. 1717 Hannah b. ca. 1726

I am aware that Find A Grave for David mentions that he had two other wives, 'Deliverance' and 'Mary', but I see no evidence for that, I believe information shows that the 2 Mayflower-listed wives of David are all that he had.

If you have different information about David's wives and offspring, please let me know. Otherwise, I wonder if you would be so kind as to delete the link between Hannah and David as daughter and father. Questions welcome! Thanks so much for your consideration.

Myrtle Davis
Myrtle Davis, memorial 55066907, was a member of my mother's Bishop family.

If she was not a member of your family, would you please consider transferring her memorial to me?

I tried through the edit tab on her memorial to get it transferred. Don't know if there was a problem in receiving the request.

Thank you, Carolyn (47384868)

Christiana Montgomery #173606045

I am searching for the gravesite of Christiana Giffin Montgemory. Her parents were Robert Find A Grave#34624540 and Mary (Strawbridge/Giffen FG #34681613), Montgomery. They were both buried in Warrior Run Church Cemetery. Christiana Giffin Montgomery died in 1827 and I have found no grave information on her. I am wondering if she may have been buried in Warrior Run Cemetery without a headstone and when the cemetery was read she would have been missed. Is this anything you can check on for me?

Are you sure of the inscription on James Adams' gravestone? If he died 1775 at age 40, he would have been born 1735 not 1714 and would have been past Elizabeth Hughlings child-bearing age.

This may be Matthew's son and not his brother.
