|Sandy Trudell Duke||Steinhoff Grave|
I also added the requested picture on George Steinhoff's memorial. There is a stone for a George Steinhoff which appears to be another child. This memorial is on Find A Grave, but not attached to the parents.
Interesting the different name spelling on Find A Grave and on the stone!
|William Rogers||RE: Ruth Peldo|
I also added a photo of the headstone of John R. Peldo (1908-1972) that was next to Ruth's. I'm not sure what the relationship was. I have two photos of the headstones together with some background scenery. Give me an email address if you want them.

Russell Varin is one of 6 graves in that section. Also
Jack Varin 1916 1939
Catherine Winn Varin 1873 1930
James Charles Varin 1862 1920
and both Simpson graves claimed by someone else

Sectio 15 Lot 159 Grave 2
I have not gotten to that section yet
Lot 159 is right in the center of the Section and a very hard area to find headstones since most of the caskets did not have cement vaults and the area has sunken down . Also the lots change size, shape and direction so it is hard to determine the exact location of the lot. But next time I go out I will look for you. I ran out of time last time out. Sorry

You're very welcome.

I am so sorry to tell you this but the picture on her memorial page of the cement slab that is dedicated to friends of easter Oregon state hospital serves as the headstone for the residents of EOSH. It is one mass grave section and from what I have learned thru researched, most of the residents were cremated and kept in jars in basement for many years while the head of the hospital still collected monthly checks for many of the deceased because many family members either were unable to come see them or just disowned them so they were not aware of their passing. This was finally discovered and hospital shut down. But many of the cremains were not labeled and or never claimed. They were put in one mass grave area and one memorial stone set for all of them. Its very sad but at least you know her burial location. Some are unknown as some cremains cud not be identified.I have taken other requests for residents of EOSH and I always feel bad to explain to family members that, that is the only headstone, is the plaque for all the residents.I'm so sorry.if you wud like, I cud take a better picture of the grassy area where the plaque rests.
