Genealogy has been a big part of our lives for the last several years. We are as far back as we can go in our family without some very large break through, so we have decided to devote some time to finding the final resting place of as many of our ancestors as possible.
Thanks to Findagrave we are making some progress. Now on our trips, we always check for photo requests in the area and are trying to give as many photos as we receive. We also try to take photos of as many old or unique headstones as possible. We see too many old headstones that are unreadable or partially destroyed, we want to do our part to save in pictures as many as we can.
Please report any errors we post (we want to be as correct as possible).

Rattrays
I have added new memorials for Mary Ann (Pyott) Rattray (#182559946) and her husband James M. Rattray (#182583324), plus their son Robert A. (1859-1882)(#182584234), and requested edits adding the parents to their other children. HOPEFULLY, once all the edits are processed, the children will get straightened out with the right parents. I don't think there is any more to do until the edits have been processed.

Mary Ann Pyott Rattray
I have just created a memorial (#182559946) for the Mary Ann Pyott (1833-1889) who married James M. Rattray and was the actual mother of the misplaced Rattrays I just described to you a few minutes ago. I'm not sure what should happen next to untangle the confusion. If you are not particularly attached to the family, I am related to them through my husband's Pyotts and you could transfer them to me and let me deal with it, though I'm short of time these days. Let me know what you would like to do. (I also will try to find out where her husband is buried, so a memorial could be created to complete the family.)

Two Mary Ann Rattrays
I have found a problem with the various Rattray memorials, due to Mary Ann Pyott (1833-1889) and her husband James M. Rattray (1828-1882), m. ~1854, naming one of their 8 children (b. 1855 to 1877) Mary Ann. All of the Rattray family memorials I have found (one is written by "cara") list children born in years EARLIER than the mother's birth year. They have the wrong Mary Ann: the daughter b. in 1861, as the mother. The memorials are #82816335 (Jane b. 1855), #82795212 (William, whose mother is mentioned as Mary "Pratt" instead of Pyott), #18794133 (James Middleton), and #86512267 (David P). Cara started off OK with the memorial for Mary Ann (#45355806) describing the one b. 1861, d. 1896, but then she listed the "children" who belonged to Mary Ann (1833-1889), who should have been her sibs. [I have not found memorials for Robert, Walter & Maud.] The mother supposedly is also buried at Graceland.

#45355806(Mary Ann b. 1861),
