Bio and Links
Bio Photo I've been researching my family for many years and have found Findagrave to be invaluable.

Many of my memorials have been entered from transcripts and I have not seen the actual headstone. If you post a headstone photo to a memorial, and there is a difference in info, please send an edit and let me know.

Please do not post a death certificate to a memorial that I manage. I know they are allowed, but I don't like them, and Findagrave does remove them when requested. So it will save everyone work, if they're not posted to begin with. If there is information on the d/c that I have not listed, send a SAC and I'll add it. The death certificate does not add anything to the memorial that can't be put in the bio.

When requesting a transfer, for any memorial that is outside the 4 generation guideline (siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren), please explain your relationship, and why you wish the memorial transferred. I'll consider the request, and transfer on a case by case basis. Thanks!

Annis Vuncannon dates
Hi Joni, Would you please recheck Annis Vuncannon tombstone date as posted? It should be 1885 instead of 1855 I believe. He is the son of William Riley Vuncannon and is listed in the 1920 census of Marks Creek Township, Richmond County, age 36, with first wife Sarah Ellen Luck. Thank you so much. Ramona

RE: Finlay McSween #54393630
The surname was spelled in a variety of ways: McSwain, McSween, McSwean

I have...
'British Aliens in the U.S. During the War of 1812' p342 (North Carolina), which lists:
Finlay McSwain, age 64, 9 yrs in US (probably 10 yrs), wife and 3 children, Richmond County, farmer (14 Sep - 12 Oct 1812) .. b: 1848; arrival: 1803 (probably 1802, along with Angus (70), brother, and Daniel (32), son or nephew)
Finlay McSwain, age 47, 22 years in U.S., wife and 6 children, Richmond County (14 Sep - 12 Oct 1812) .. b: 1765; arrival: 1790, along with Daniel (55) and Daniel (52).

I also have a newspaper article listing arrival into Wilmington Harbor NC on 29 Oct 1802 of the ship 'Duke of Kent' from Liverpool, England carrying 497 passengers, mostly Scots from Isle of Skye, Iverness-shire.

My research indicates that this part of the family arrived in 1790 and 1802 from Isle of Skye, Inverness-shire, Scotland. But I understand that there are other possible 'stories' to consider.

Would you like a copy of the documents that I have?

THANKS for your reply...

RE: Darin Ogden
I'm so sorry for your loss. It is a good thing that you have done to see that they all have records on Findagrave. That's why I comb old newspapers looking for obits. I want to see everyone who has passed to be remember - especially ones who lost their lives in service. Teamwork! Donna

RE: Mills Cemetery
Thanks, Joni, for your response. Do you mean the WPA (Works Progress Administration)? The EPA was started in 1970. Can you tell me where you accessed these records? Thanks, Lina

Hi Joni-
You have memorials for 3 people named Mills buried in the Mills Cemetery, Troy, NC. For reference, one of the memorial numbers is:
Could you tell me where the cemetery is or where you found the information locating these burials at this cemetery? I haven't been able to verify.
Thanks so much for all the great work you do.

RE: Duplicate Memorial of Helen Nealy
Dear Joni, I want to thank you for bringing to my attention about the duplicate memorial of Helen Nealy. Helen was my great-great grandmother Priscilla "Syla" Nealy Norris' sister. I had no real clue where she was buried and since the spelling of her first name is a little different than what I have it does not always show up with Find A Grave search engine. I will delete the duplicate memorial and request a transfer of the original memorial. Hopefully, I will receive it. So thanks for the feedback. It was helpful.
