I was born March 6, 1980 in Montrose, PA and grew up there near the Montrose Cemetery. It was a short cut to my best friend's and my brother's houses. We used to sled down the hill (not where the graves were of course) or play hide and seek around the monuments. The park was too far away. I remember scurrying home after dark through it, but I was never scared. I always felt protected. Many of my mom's ancestors are buried there (or in near by cemeteries). My dad's ancestors are from Bridgeton, NJ. I live near Wilkes-Barre now and continue to research my family tree. I work for a nonprofit organization that cleans up land and water polluted by the anthracite coal industry.
