I started working on my family tree in 1969 and will forever be gratefull for the invaluable information my Grandmother Alice Atteberry Carter gave me. She had a fantastic memory and all of the names and dates she gave me have checked out over the years. Hopefully one of my five children and (so far) five grandchildren will continue the work one day.Please note new email address!|

Hi: I sat the book aside for a bit as I have just recently returned home from travels abroad and am now involved in rehearsals for an upcoming stageplay that I will be performing in...but, yes, still interested and will be happy to send you info on the Clanton connection. You can write me direct at firstname.lastname@example.org Thanks..Tom.

|Tom Goldrup||Abram and Ira Hearn|
Hi: I am currently working on a booklet on the descendants of William Clanton of Warren County, North Carolina. He was the great great grandfather of the two Hearn brothers. I have been unable to find their father's name...is it Howell Hearn. If so, was his wife Mary or Millicent Tillman...I find contradictory reports as to which sister is the mother of the two brothers. I would be inteerested in any stories you might have about Abram and Ira Howell and their family. Thanks. Tom Goldrup email@example.com
|Carolyn Goddard||Thank you|
I spent a lot of time with my Granny in Virginia before my father got his job with IBM and moved us to NC in 1969. Like your grandmother, she told me many stories about family members and at a young age I mostly remembered their first names like Aunt Sally. I tried to put together a tree many years ago, but Findagrave and Ancestry helped me put last names to everyone. While I was out researching my family, my journey took me all the way to Canada where my Dad's family spent a 200 year stretch of time. But mostly, the Goddard family got off the boat in Massachusetts and stayed there. As I went along, I tried to record everyone in a cemetery that I was walking looking for family members because I learned early on, through the women's name change at marriage, any of them could be my relatives. I was hoping it helped someone in their journey. It was so wonderful to hear from you. I wish you the best with all your discoveries.

|Anonymous||Nancy M. Barbee|
Hi, I did some checking. This is for sure not the same person as Nancy Whitesides. They have incorrectly added Nancy M. Barbee's dates to theirs. It really is a mess, even on Ancestry people have copied that. The Nancy M. Barbee I have listed is as headstone shows Nancy M. (M. probably standing for her maiden name). Below is Nancy M., she married William Cleveland Barbee in abt 1892, she stay married to him til she died. She was never married a Whitesides. Click on William Barbee her spouse link and read abt him, and shows his headstone. He married Nancy after his first wife Lucy Drake died in 1892, and is buried in same cem as Nancy
This other Nancy listed I believe is in wrong cemetery and for sure wrong dates. I looked at a copy of the Pontotoc co cemetery book and she is not listed in it. The person who listed her in 2010 just thought she might be buried there I guess and some how everyone got her dates and the other Nancy Barbee buried there mixed up. That's why there is a difference in name Nancy Elizabeth and Nancy M.. The Nancy M. I have listed has unknown maiden name.
1900 Lafayette Co, ms

Nancy M Berbee 43, Apr 1857, she has 0 children
James D Berbee 18
Grover C Berbee 14
Willie D Berbee 12
Lila W Berbee 11
Lucie S Berbee 8
Eben Nelson 17
1910 Pontotoc Co, MS
Will C Backer 56
Nanie M Barbee 53
(says married 18 or 19 yrs)
1920 Lafayette Co, ms
William C Barbee 67
Nannie M Barbee 63
They really need to at least delete the dates from the Nancy Whiteside memorial, or delete the whole memorial, because there isn't any proof really that person is buried here.

Hi Deborah, I was curious whether or not you might be related to Antonia Mitchell. She was my great great aunt. She had several siblings as you will see on her memorial and I'm trying to locate pictures of as many of them as I can. I have a picture of her brother Robert William (my great grandfather), her sister Fannie and her sister Hattie. I know her first husband was Wright Medlin but he died and she later married Willie Mitchell. I've also wondered if they had any children. So, if you know anything about her I would appreciate it. Thanks!
