Bio and Links
Bio Photo I live in Winston-Salem, NC with my husband and two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Louie and Opie. I am a freelance writer and have several articles published online, most at I am an amateur photographer and an amateur genealogist. I love finding out things about my family history.

I am happy to assist anyone I can in finding out information about their family histories or burial locations. If we discover we're related, that's awesome! If we're not related, we can just be virtual friends.

Any help others can give me in finding pieces of my own family history would be much appreciated!

I'm looking for the following surnames: Hoenicke, Whitmore, Pettis, Mills, Schenck, Kilgour/Kilgore, Dingman, and Ferguson.

Robert F Wood Sr -
There is a duplication--Robert Frank "Bob" Wood, Sr Memorial #78840647 and Robert F Wood Sr Memorial
# 35034556. You are probably aware of it, but I thought I'd make sure.

RE: John A Szymanski photo -- thank you
My husband, Daniel John Szymanski, is the son of Felix Julius Szymanski, one of Aunt Nell Szymanski-Wood's brothers. So Aunt Nell is my husband's Aunt. Aunt Nell was a sweetheart. We loved having her over for Holiday dinners while she lived in Alpena.
I only have a few family photos which I have already posted in my family history; I'm looking for more.----LET'S try to Keep in Touch

Johnson family
Hi Deborah,

I got very excited for a moment, because when I was looking at my records, I thought for a moment that your Charles F. Johnson b 1884 was the son of Alpha's brother, Charles F. Johnson b 1862, who lived in Orleans Township for a time. But it looks like they are not related. It is looking like our Johnson lines won't turn out to be related, but thank you for keeping and eye out, and I will do the same for you!

Johnson memorials
Hi Deborah, sorry in the delay in transferring those memorials over. Let me know if there are any others you would like.

Thank you for the offer of looking in cemeteries around Orleans Township for me. I am looking for some names, but couldn't even guess where they might be. If you happen to come along anyone by the name of Alpha Johnson Harrington, that is the main person I am looking for. I don't have the rest of her family pulled up right now, but there are other Johnsons as well.

Thanks again!

RE: Julius E. Hoenicke
Hi Deborah -
Have no clue about the Hoenicke's, but one thing you said did jump out at me. You think Theresa was exhumed because Henry was not Catholic and therefore they were buried together somewhere else. Trinity Cemetery is not a Catholic Cemetery, never was. It began as a German-Lutheran cemetery. Anyway, in looking for my own relatives down at Trinity, I take as many pictures as I can while I'm there. I seem to be finding everyone else's relatives but mine! I also go to Gethsemane, which also started out as a Lutheran Cemetery. If I ever grab a picture of Henry & Theresa's headstone, it'll be put on this website.
