Adrian Davenport Birth Date
Hey Mark. Thanks. Please note I submitted a change to Adrians birth date from 1864 to 1854 to the individual taking care of his memorial. I could not contact them directly as they have messages turned off. He was 16 years old when he died not 6. I also verified this indeed is his stone with Florence the Glendale Cemetery secretary.

Thank you so much for fulfilling my photo requests for the Burgess memorials. I had tried to find the graves to photograph, but did not realize how large the cemetery was and had no luck so I appreciate your time.

George M. Kriter

Was the husband of my 1st cousin 3X removed, Ameilia Bruerer Kriter. George served in the 15th Illinois Infantry and his name is one of the 319 civil war soldiers and one Civil War Nurses names that were embroidered on a quilt by my G G Grandmother Caroline Gerlach Boston (the Civil War Nurse).

I see that you posted a photograph of his headstone on Find-a-Grave. Do you recall if there was either a second headstone (Civil War Soldiers) or a GAR (Grand Army of the Republic) medallion near the headstone?

I am researching all of the soldiers whose names appear on the quilt and will be doing a presentation of my findings to an anthropological conference. Would you mind if I used a digital copy of the headstone photo you posted on Find A Grave in my presentation? You would be given credits for the photo. Thank you!

RE: Davenport Cemetery, Union County KY
Mark-Yes, Adrian Davenport was on my list, but not listed as "SR". In the late 1970's/early 1980's I copied down names on tombstones in some family cemeteries in Union & Henderson Counties. I actually was searching for my husband's ancestors & just started copying any stones that I found. Peyton Heady also made lists on many of the cemeteries in Union Co. I do have lists, & books by Peyton, with many family cemeteries listed. I do not know if the cemetery/stones are still in existence. Adrian's stone read "Adrian Davenport 1759-May 2, 1841." Hope this helps.

Thank you so much for granting my request for a photo of my GGG-Aunt. A lot of my family seems to have stopped there in DeKalb, Ill. and stayed for several years. They married, died and the rest moved on. I love how the history of our ancestors takes us across this great country. Again, thank you so much!!
