Bio and Links
Bio Photo Historian, researcher, avid reader, writer, married for 47 years to beautiful lady, father of a wonderful daughter, grandfather of two grandsons, one step grandson and one step grand daughter. I had a new aortic heart valve inserted into my heart on 4 August 2015.

I attended Texas Tech University for 6 years and have a Bach. of Architecture professional degree from there (graduated May 1971). Paid my way thru college working construction as a union laborer, washing dishes at Carnation restaurant, and carrying paver bricks for TTU ground maintenance. Got my first job doing architectural drafting in fall of 1968 for Carroll Interiors in Lubbock (Oct. 1968-Dec. 1970)for $1.35 / hour. Spent two years active duty in the U.S. Army, 1971-73. Worked the rest of my professional life as an architectural draftsman (44 years) until I retired in May 2009.

Now I spend time reading, relaxing at our cabin in Okla., enjoying our family, and our two English Bull Terrier dogs.

Wondering if you are related to Mollie Adams?
Hello Jerry, just wondering if we are distant cousins. Mollie Adams was my grandfather's sister. He never said anything about his family other than his twin brother Elmer. I guess I understand why now. My grandfather Ellis ran away from his mother and sisters (Mary, Mollie & Rosa) in Waco as a teen and joined his father in Greenville. Brothers William, Elmer and sister Lizzie did the same. Glad he did. I'm wondering if you are a cousin I don't know. If so, please email me at I'm working on the Adams family genealogy. Hope you're feeling well again after your surgery. Happy New Year. Lynne Aams Farr

Steve Robards
Hi Jerry, thank you for your kind and thoughtful message about Steve. I miss him so much. The 30 plus years we were together now seems like 10 minutes. Soon, I will try and load some pictures.

RE: thsnk you
Sure no problem , I was happy to do it !
I apologize for the cleanliness of the headstone , they were weed eating and mowing today , there are hard stickers in some of the grass areas , and I didn't have gloves with me , I'm going back , and will send a cleaned up version !
Where you two in the service together or something ?

William Umland
I have uploaded a picture of William's gravestone. There were also a couple of other relatives (I assume) next to him that I added as well. Mathilde Klopsteck Umland 1849-Aug 17, 1907 and Caroline Klopsteck Apr 4, 1814 - Jun 24, 1899.

RE: thanks
Hi Jerry,

Thank you for your kind words. Yes, it's been a lot of work, but a labor of love. Genealogy is my passion ... my ADDICTION!!

Best Regards,
