Great advice from long time member Stu:
I have had the misfortune to encounter some Find A Grave members who are nothing but bullies, and are emboldened by because they are not face to face with the people they are shoving around. I have no problem reporting such people to Find A Grave and Ancestry's Executive Action Team in Provo, and encourage you to do the same if you encounter such a gorgon. If you are feeling mistreated, and cannot work your differences out, or if you do not feel safe because of threats, report the abuse. You do not have to put up with it.

RE: Mrs. Sarah
I figured it would be easier for you to modify the notes section at least. I didn't find one for her, and although her dc says where she's buried, it doesn't say that her 1st husband is there.
Good luck!

RE: Braun/Brown Family
Thanks for the prompt reply! I appreciate that! I am primarily interested in Michael Johann Braun (Find A Grave Memorial# 159697468) and Margaret Katrina Shamback - Michael's wife (Find A Grave Memorial# 159697946). Both are said to be buried in the Host Cemetery (Berks County PA). I have no area, however, date of deaths are said to be 1804 and 1810 respectively.

I will try the google book search technique you suggested. I will also keep an eye out for any information you might be able to locate from your Ohio Pioneer Families volumes.

Thanks for the service of your son as a fire fighter! I'm sure he would agree that it is truly and honor to be able to help others in their time of need.

Return blessings to you and have a drama free move!

Braun/Brown Family
Debbie... I was excited to see your response to Terry Kent a few weeks ago. Like Terry, I have been trying to trace this elusive figure in our family tree. I believe that the information you have provided from Michael Johann Braun matches my family lineage as my "Braun/Brown" ancestors came from Indiana via Ohio and Pennsylvania. I have been looking for online information about the reference book you mentioned, "Ohio The Cross Road of our Nation, Records & Pioneer Families."

I have found an index on-line, however, the only way I can research your source is to order it on-line. Can you tell me what Volume/page the information came from? I would like to look at your references but would like to know exactly what I should order.

Also, another question... Why is Michael Braun listed in the Host Cemetery if there is no reference to him in the Host Cemetery burial index? Was this information that cane from the book you mentioned?

Thanks so much for all your diligent efforts to help people trace family roots. I am a new member of Find-A-Grave and I plan to "pay it forward" by helping others in need of information at my cemetery! (I am a new part-time manager at the Eastern Shore Chapel Cemetery in Virginia Beach, Virginia).

John Simcock Kirkbride
John Simcock Kirkbride is my 5th great grandfather - married to Martha Farnsworth. On the Findagrave site the information states his birth was: 11 Apr 1748 BUT the birth on his headstone clearly states birth as 30 Apr 1750 dates of death match in both places. Which date of birth is correct?

I have always used the 30 Apr 1750 as it is "etched in stone" on his grave marker.

Also: Does anyone know what type of service he performed during the Revolutionary War ?

RE: Michael Johann Braun and Margaret Katrina Shamback Braun
I have also been researching the Rowan Braun's. They are not related to me (as far as I know), but seem to have come through Pennsylvania at about the same time and it certainly does cause a lot of confusion. Today I was researching him in hopes that perhaps they're from the same tree, but Michael Braun of Rowan, NC has a very vague history before his first appearance in PA.

Thanks again for reaching out so quickly!
