Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was born and raised in Newhall, California and started doing genealogy research with my Aunt Nelle in the 1980's. I also love antiques and usually take a camping trip in the summer to do research work and search for treasures. Both are never ending projects and lots of fun. Am happy to take photos of headstones in the Eternal Valley Cemetery in Newhall and Santa Paula Cemetery in Santa Paula.

Please email me with any corrections to the information that I post on memorials. Most of the memorials I post are not my direct family, and I will happily transfer memorials that are unrelated to me to ANY family member that requests it. I do not "own" these memorials, and love to see them connected to the families they belong with.

*** While I love photos of people added to the memorials, I prefer not to add a copy of the death certificate. I usually have looked at the certificates and have added any information found there to the memorial and don't see a need for a photo of that to be posted. Thank you for understanding and not adding photos of the certificates to memorials I have posted. Missouri death certificates are free on the Missouri State site and are easily referenced.***

Find A Grave is a wonderful site, and I am so grateful that it exists so we can share information with each other!

Here's a number for my great grandpa Nicholas. Grandma and sisters are connected. Still working on great uncle Earl.

There should be a way to send a virtual bouquet of flowers to kind and generous Find A Gravers - that would be you!
Thank you for making the extra effort take and post these photos. ~~Kay

I don't know much, He was Sheriff of St. François Co., MO and was killed while attempting to arrest someone. He was shot. There is just basic information on the Officer Down Memorial Page (ODMP)as well. Dec 1880

RE: Julia Rudy Benham 43961615
Thanks for checking. I'm assume that is where he is also. However he may have been buried elsewhere. He was sheriff of the county and was killed in the line of duty. I have written to the sheriff's dept there I'll let you know if I hear anything.

Yes, the duplicate page is gone that was linked to his parents and siblings. Now I see that your Memorial Page for him is linked to family. His Missouri death certificate lists Mound Cemetery, but his tombstone is definitely in Love Cemetery. Maybe there was confusion since you say that Love Cemetery was once called Love Mound.
Thanks for all your work on Find A Grave.

Julia Rudy Benham 43961615

I am trying to find Julia's second husband John B. Benham. The sheriff who was killed in 1880. I'm doing research on Civil War Veterans for Sainte Genevieve Co., MO Sons of Union Veterans. John served in the CSA during the war but we are trying to research all the Vet's from that county.

Do you have any idea where he might be buried?

Elizabeth Prouty
I found it you put it under Prouty Sherman.

But this is not right her full name is Elizabeth Ruch Sherman Prouty.

Sherman was her first husband.

Larry Boyd made the memorial first and yours is a duplicate.

I would transfer the memorial back to the El Dorado Springs Cemetery.

I will email you a link to add to the bio and it will link the two memorials together to show the death certificate says El Dorado Springs but the memorial is actually in the Hazel Dell Cemetery.

RE: Elizabeth Prouty
ok, sorry I said your memorial was a duplicate of someone elses. I guess it got deleted because the only Prouty memorial in Hazel Dell is by Larry Boyd. I do not see yours.

RE: Elizabeth Prouty

I didn't intend for you to delete her, as there will probably be someone else making that memorial again since the death certificate says she is buried in the El Dorado Springs, Cemetery. There is a link you could have put on her memorial that would have taken you to her correct memorial. I have done it a few times. Mostly when there is a stone in the cemetery but it is only for memorial purposes. But I have done it for my uncle. Kenneth Carl Eslinger. His death certificate says he is buried in Mound Cemetery, when he is actually buried in Eslinger Cemetery. If you want you can redue the memorial and I can email you the link. I can not send the link through find a grave it will not let me. I can not email the link. it will not let me it messes it up. the only way is for me to put it on word and attach the doc. to you.
If you do not want to do the memorial I can. But I feel since you had it first it is your decision.
