Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been interested in genealogy since my late teens and have always enjoyed going through cemeteries and looking at grave markers. I am located in Dripping Springs Texas in the north Part of Hays County. I would be glad to photograph tombstones within a reasonable distance from me.

RE: Absolom Gatteys
Thanks for answering. Your name was on the photo and I remember corresponding with you a while back. Thought you had found something new. None of my records show a "v" associated with his name in any of my records.

Gatteys
Hey, Joel! Just found the grave markings for our Gatteys family and they are great. You have done so much work. Please tell me how you found Absolum's middle name to be "Vaden"? What a find!! My father was also a Gatteys "V", but it was James Vassar Gatteys...I never knew where it came from, but it was not a family name. Let me know about the Vaden as I want to include in my family records.

Young Berry
The tombstone for Jane Berry is in the section where most of the other burials are more recent. It is possible this is a reburial but the e-copy of the cemetery records that I have does not include the 'reburial' column. This plot contains people named Warnick and Mohler. There is another older stone next to hers that was not legible when I did the photography in glare of full sun. I initially assumed it would be Young Berry so I put in GPS coordinates for his memorial. The photos allowed me to make out enough letters to ID the stone as belonging to Samuel Warnick instead but not completely certain of this match. I submitted an edit to remove the GPS coordinates for Young Berry but this request has not be acted on. It looks as if someone found the tombstone of Young Berry but that is not the case.

RE: Maria Catharina Mell
Her information came from the following website "Hutto Descendants of America" - much of which came from the diary of Rev. John Giessendanner.
