Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am an amateur historian at heart. After I discovered the Find A Grave website, I felt much gratitude to those who served as contributors. I feel that visiting a gravesite is a way of paying my respects to someone, either famous or non-famous, for having contributed to our history. I appreciate Jim Tipton's Find A Grave website as a means of permitting many people to do that without incurring significant expenses. I also look upon this website as a source of historical reference material. For these reasons, I decided to become a contributor of text and photos. Because I have developed a great interest in Japan in recent years, I have sought to have that nation well represented. In this regard, I have gotten much help from Mr. Akira Komatsu, Suwa-city, Nagano, (L) and Mr. Daiju Omura, Yokohama-city, Shinagawa, (R) who have unselfishly assisted me with research and permitted me to contribute pictures of theirs to Find A Grave. I also thank Dr. Mark Jewel of Tokyo's Waseda University for the use of several of his pictures.

Emmett Till's Grave

We want to find and homage to the gravesite of Emmett Till. We see that you photographed him. Can you tell us how to find his gravesite at Burr Oak Cemetery?

Thank you,

Marriage of Emma Conner to Reverdy Ransom
Can you help me? I am doing the Conner genealogy since 1986. Currently working on William Conner (1825-1917) the f/o Emma Sarah Conner-Ransom. I find it simply unbelievable that a mixed race marriage was allowed in 1887. I thought that was illegal until current times. Do you have any proof that Emma S Ransom is Emma S Conner? I can't find any other than their marriage in Greene Co., OH. If this is for real than they were way ahead of their times and I'm certain ostracized for it.This is an exciting find for me. Pls let me know if you can add anything to this union? Thx Carol Conner-Donovan

Dr. Frederick A Rice
Your memorial for Dr. Rice is very much appreciated by his daughter, Becky. She now has a printed copy, which brought her to happy tears. She asked that I pass along her graditude for the wonderful tribute. God bless.

Scanned Obituaries / Articles
Please do not post scanned articles / scanned obituaries to memorials. This is against find a grave policy, and I do have them removed.

Sorry, yes it was in response to Micah's inquiry left many years ago.

Sorry for the years of delay. When I visited the cemetery he had just been put to rest. In Sicily they put a temporary face until a stone face is complete. I also learned that in about 30 years his remains will probably be removed to make room for another. He being a celebrity and a very important person in the village of Polizzi may be able to stay in this place for much longer.

RE: Rev Daniel D. Elmore Jr.
You're VERY welcome!

I knew Pastor Elmore from the Ohio Baptist General Convention. He was one of our teachers in the Congress of Christian Education. I also know Anita, she and I graduated from Central State University. Plus, she and my cousin, Marilyn Zimmerman are good friends.

Small world...
