Born and raised in Summerville Georgia, maiden name Padgett, I married and moved to Rome in 2006. In 2012 we bought a house in my hometown, a mile from my parents. My husband and I have two furbabies, Fancy and Vinnie, and one furangel, Socks, who belonged to my aunt before she passed away. I am a homemaker now, "medically retired" from the workforce due to Fibromyalgia and a few other problems.|
I always loved looking at old tombstones, and that developed into a general love of cemeteries.
I believe everyone deserves to be remembered, and I get especially sad seeing memorials that have no flowers. Those are the people I search out, so I can let them know that they aren't forgotten.
Thanks to everyone who leaves a remembrance on my memorials. Your thoughtfulness is much appreciated.
Please also visit the pages I have sponsored, to let the family and friends know that their loved ones are remembered and honored.
October 30, 2016
It's starting to seem like it's always October when I add things here! ~grin~ I am currently searching out memorials of murder victims, and leaving tokens for them, again, usually with no message. If I have left a token on your loved one's memorial, please know one thing: I am not doing this quickly or aimlessly. I am looking up each person's name, reading their story if I can find it, and saying a prayer for you, the families they left behind. If my token offends you, please send me a message and I will remove it. All tokens I leave are done with the utmost respect.
Oct. 20, 2012: Thank you to everyone who has left positive messages for me about leaving tokens for people I don't know. I'm the kind of person who cries over obviously forgotten graves, I can't afford to place flowers on the real graves that break my heart, so I try to make up for it by leaving tokens here. I appreciate all the encouragement, and apologize for not answering everyone directly. May God shine blessings down upon you all!
I have had people e-mail me a few times asking me to remove tokens I have left for their loved ones, because they didn't want me to increase my 'count' at their expense. If I've left a flower for someone you loved, please take a moment to read this.
I DO NOT keep count, Find-a-Grave does that. If you think that way, look how long I've been a member, look how many tokens I've left, and do the math. I'm not able to be on here very often but when I do, I try to send a silent message to at least one person that they were acknowledged that day, even if by a stranger.
If I left something, it's because you left something on one of my memorials, and I'm reciprocating; because I know someone who knew your loved one, and am leaving a remembrance; or - in the case of the people who have written to me - I try to leave flowers for people who have none. It hurts my heart to see a grave with no flowers in life, and I hate the thought of someone having a memorial on here but not being remembered any other way.
I usually don't leave a message with tokens, because I don't really know what to say, and because I don't want to sound trite. The saying is "A picture is worth a thousand words" and another, "It's the thought that counts."

If Alwin Maryland Padgett is your ancestor, then we are likely cousins. I am the great granddaughter of his son, Clem Emmett Padgett. Do you know anything about the grave of Lloyd Alvin Eberhart? He died in infancy in Levelland in 1951. He is the great grandson of Alwin and grandson of Clem. He is the son of Cecil and Fae Eberhart. Which child of Alwin are you a descendant of if any? Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving tributes. I sincerely appreciate it.
Have a peaceful weekend.

Thank you so much for sponsoring Stephen's memorial, Kathy. This courageous young man should never be forgotten, and with your help, he won't be.
Thank you again.
|Randy Brunni||Thank You|
I am a new member here but have visited his site several times looking up old family member Grave sites. I just wanted to say thank you for the the picture you left on the page for my Father SFC Russell R Brunni who is buried with my mother Syble Jane in Summerville Ga. We grew up in Plainville Ga. after my father retired from the Army. He was my hero and several of my brothers and a sister followed in his footsteps and joined the Military, I was medically retired from the Army in 2013 after 30 years. I just want to say it touched my heart when I seen the picture that you left on his page. We still have family in the Rome area and I come to Rome often from my home in Piedmont Al. and if possible I would love to thank you in person sometime when I come to Rome.
Again thank you very much, I shared your picture with my sister and she was also touched by your heartfelt actions.

Kathy, I am not familiar with the area. I live in Florida. I went to the cemetery with my cousin who lives in Menlo and if I recall she said it was in Gore. I looked it up online and the address is 900 Farmersville Rd. The GPS is Latitude: 34.4600873
The little white house right across the street from the church is where our ancestors (Phillips) lived.

Kathy, when I transferred the memorial to you I lost the option to remove it. There is no place for me to click to remove it. You will have to contact F-A-G and have it removed.
I was glad to transfer your Aunt's memorial to you. May God bless.
