just a History junkie, I have always been interested in the vast collection of history in every cemetery I passed through. Now that I have the time I just decided to try to get pictures of every stone I found in every cemetery I could get to. I have a friend who took photos a few years ago for Oklahoma Cemeteries. I have noticed that many of the stones that she took photos of were 80 to 90 years old were still in fair shape (readable) but now the stones seem to have deteriorated to the point that they are not readable. I asked a few people what has happened in the last ten years that is causing these stones to decay much more than they did the eighty or more years before? A couple of people have said the reason is "acid rain" makes sense I guess so if that's the case we better get this history recorded. I am not a collector of memorials I just feel it is up to the living to remember the dead and help link the families so others can find there ancestors. The photos I take are posted to be shared I don't care about copyright as long as the purpose is to share with the family members. If there are family members who wish to maintain memorials that I have posted I will be glad to transfer to them as long as it's not from my family. Again I'm not in competition to see how many memorials I can make, it is just an O.C.D. thing (I'm crazy)! If I can help anyone find a long lost loved one it makes my day, I live in Adair County, OK. and will try to help find any grave within 100 miles of my home, good Lord willing and the creeks don't rise!|

You are welcome - our honor.

On the page for Bobby Don Chucalate Sr (D 1967) Where your paragraph starts off "Lewis Chuculate Jr. 30, a former resident of Adair County, died Sunday, July 23 in a Chicago, ILL., hospital from injuries sustained in a freak accident the evening before" it should read Bobby instead of Lewis.
This was my Uncle Bob and I happened across your page. Thank you so much for managing this and getting the photos, it is much appreciated.

Please remove one or two of the old photos, so I can post the photo that Kim put on facebook today in honor of her mother. The picture of Her and Levi hugging Kim on her wedding day is so touching

Hi, William's memorial number is 103436694. You have his birth location as Ireland but he was born in Washington County, Arkansas. Not sure where the Ireland came from. He is the half brother of my gg grandmother, Lucinda Jane Music.
If you need more information to change this location, please let me know.

Thank you so much for posting Rilke's marker. We all live in CA and I don't have the equipment to do the posting of pics.I looked today at the site because my last bro-in-law passed away & we had his viewing this evening. Someone mentioned how badly Rilke's marker looked it has been a least 8 yrs since that person saw the marker. So I thank you very much for doing this.My bro-in-law was born in 1931& was Mr.&Mrs. Reaves first child after Rilke's death. So this means a lot to us.

Thank you for the prompt reply. Sure hope there are no open graves, that would be tough for families.
