Six of Angel John's seven cats now have a forever home with me. They are adapting very well with me and my many critters.
I am taking a hiatus from this site until further notice.
I'm from the SOUTH where ...
Everyone pulls over to let a funeral procession pass. We don't have fireflies; we got lightnin' bugs. Tators are mandatory while shoes are NOT. Y'all is a proper noun. Ain't is a word. Chicken is fried. Biscuits come with gravy. Sweet tea is the house wine. Shopping carts are buggies. We never disrespect our elders. We talk to strangers. We wave a lot. We love pearls, porches, peanuts, and blessin' hearts.
Member since Aug 1st, 2011. I'm from Louisiana - a feral cat caregiver, an animal lover and a voracious reader. I have a deep patriotic love for America, am a devout Roman Catholic, and have a fond addiction to super strong black coffee and dark chocolate. My nickname is Suse.
My beloved late husband and soul mate, Craig, long marveled at my love for cemeteries - the older, the better. A taphophile I am - taphophilia is a passion for and enjoyment of cemeteries - I love walking through them delighting in the solitude and peacefulness as I read markers and headstones.
My heart holds a very special spot for veterans, members of law enforcement and other first responders, children, and animals. Support our troops, back the badge, and report child and animal neglect and abuse. Sidney Sheldon, an American writer, stated my own thoughts, but ever so eloquently: "My heroes are those who risk their lives every day to protect our world and make it a better place - police, firefighters and members of our armed forces."
I believe every memorial should have a virtual flower. When I see one without, I add one; it's an honor to leave my respects. That person was once loved and cherished by someone, somewhere.
I visit every person who visits my memorials as I have time. I deeply appreciate each and every visit. ❤
"Sometimes even to live is an act of courage." ~ Lucius Annaeus Seneca, Roman Stoic philosopher and statesman

Thank you for the many tokens of remembrance you have left on his and other firefighter memorials. A group of 4 people, including me, worked for over three years trying to make sure that every Michigan firefighter who died in the line of duty, has a memorial on Findagrave. We started with 280. There are about 20 for whom we could not find a burial record or information on their final disposition. If you have any interest in MI firefighters who died in the line of duty, take a look at my virtual cemetery, "We Go Running In." My firefighter son says, "When everyone else is running out, we go running in."

Dearest SnikSnak, I love your nickname. While growing up, my best friend's Mother would come up to us while we were playing, and ask, "How about a snik-snak? She was a peach. I miss them all so! ...Take care ~ love your stuff on Find A Grave. óż

Just a note to say you are a wonderful person!
Thank you for visiting Spotley's memorial and leaving a message. Also thank you for the emails. It was very thoughtful of you. He's been gone for 24 hrs now and my world is still adjusting to life without him.

i dont know if i spelled your name correctly? i saw your many tributes on "chief" the hero dogs "find a grave" site. i thought maybe you were Raquel"s momma. ntu i know now that u r not. i was sort of obsessed with telling her that although these murders were back in the 90's it really hurt my heart when i saw the show today 12-20-2016. xoxox to all of them, and to you for continuing to remember that Chief died a hero!
