Like many Find-a Grave volunteers, I have had a life-long fascination with the people of our past, whether long past or recent past. I grew up on a farm and spent countless days exploring a pioneer cemetery hidden in a forest on our farm.

I feel both at ease and exhilarated when I walk through a cemetery: Who were these people? What were their lives like? What were their hopes and dreams? What were their obstacles? These are the thoughts that consume me every time I walk through a cemetery.

I have a special affection for neglected cemeteries and am thrilled at the notion that I might be able to find and photograph an inscription restoring the memory of a life long forgotten.

I spent most of my adult life in the aircraft maintenance field and the aerospace industry in general. I enjoyed a 37 year career in the military and I am now retired. I have a deep interest in international affairs, national security, and the defense of our country.

I love to travel, meet new people, and enjoy good conversation. My passion is genealogy; that is how I became a Find a Grave volunteer. My Find a Grave activities will always be secondary to my genealogical interests, but I will always be glad to take time to take a photograph for someone who doesn't live near the cemetery in question.

You will see by my Find a Grave contributions that I have posted several photographs from New England states....you can request a photo from that area and I will see what I have, but I live over 1,000 miles away from New England so I won't be able to routinely fill requests from that area unless I already have one on file.

I live in southern Middle Tennessee and will gladly do what I can within a reasonable distance of my home
