Bio and Links
Bio Photo In the 1980's I started researching my Linn ancestors (without benefit of computer) but got busy with my sons' activities and put it on hold. In 1999 a cousin got me involved with my Steinberg ancestors and I have been going full speed ahead ever since.

Upon graduating from the University of Illinois my father obtained employment in the State of Washington, far from any relatives. My ancestors (after entering the USA)settled in Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Montana, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio and New Jersey - I want to experience first hand where and how they lived so I travel the country obtaining data, meeting people, seeing the sights and tramping cemeteries. I missed the "cousin experience" growing up and think that is why I enjoy genealogy so much -- meeting new cousins (who cares if they are 1st or 10th cousins)and sharing our family histories.

I am researching Linn, Gibson, Weir, Scott, Polk, Steinberg, Koerner, Mitten, Bennett, Switzer (Swisher), Slonaker, Shaw, Goff, Townsend, McCarty and Whitehead, Miller, Schroen, Glabe, Schafer/Schaefer/Shafer. I am also reseaching Dishon, Deshon, DeShon, Deschamps and Herrold for my two sons.

You are so very welcome! My mom and I have been on a genealogy road trip, and couldn't resist stopping to fulfill some requests. :)

RE: Nancy Inks
Perhaps that James Inks was her 2nd husband and that her first was Fawcett with a divorce in 1860? And who her parents were also and the rest of the stuff but not that her first child Sophronia was illegitimate, that seems a bit more than should be on the memorial and so are some of the details or Nancy being a prostitute in San Andreas before she settled down with Inks for good.
Her father died in Murphys but nothing on where he was buried so we cannot link him. Her stepmother also, nothing on where she was buried. Her birth mom died in NY before her dad brought her to CA.

RE: Clara Bennett
You would just send a request for a merge to edit@findagrave.com and ask them to merge the two memorials because they are the same person. It takes about three weeks for them to get it done because they are behind. Hope it works out! Pam

Bethel Cemetery
Jan,
Unfortunately there are two Bethel cemeteries, one in Hampshire County, WV and one in Frederick County, VA. If they were born in Okonoko and died there, then the Bethel at the Little Cacapon cemetery is the one you want.

RE: Memorial# 14204647 Jacob Hess
Hello. According to the article at http://files.usgwarchives.net/pa/columbia/cemeteries/old-ge-cem.txt
"While the work is being done on the cemetery, the building committee of the school board is going over plans for the new high school building..."
Apparently, the cemetery was moved from First & Center Sts. in the town of Bloomsburg to make room for the new school.
The photo of the "cemetery" you see on the Find-A-Grave memorials for the Old Lutheran Cemetery - aka the Old German Burial Ground - was taken and posted by another member but it shows the current location of the graves that were moved. They can be found at the back of the New Rosemont Cemetery in a section by themselves - well removed from the main cemetery. Hope this helps.
Valerie
