Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am new to genealogy (2012 is relatively new compared to most people), but I'm enjoying all of my discoveries! I am researching the Danby and Rutland, Vermont branches of these families: Bromley, French, McGowan, Ackert, Baker/Belanger, Crosby, as well as the New Jersey and New York City families of Lynch and Rooney. I have a variety of research interests in New England, Canada, Ireland, England, and Scotland.

I enjoy collaborating with others. If you see errors or additions for my memorials, please let me know. The work is never done!

Hi Rebecca
FYI
I stumbled across an obit for Walter Admiral Bromley, Jr at Sunnyside which tied into the family of the George Edward and jimmie Bromley who died on the USS Arizona and then found a website that shows the info on each of them including their pictures and next of kid.
Hope all is well with you and yours.
Happy Holidays
Jess

RE: Minerva Gould
Well, here's the good news, Rebecca: When Fay and I were re-photographing most of the stones in that cemetery last summer, and getting every single stone we could find, we ran into the cemetery commissioner and a couple of townspeople. They were hoping to rehab the cemetery and had begun to dig up "missing" stones. I'm hoping that they'll continue to do that and maybe next year I'll be able to locate some of the stones you and I are looking for.
All is well. When Mischief, our beloved Springer Spaniel, died 18 months ago, I was heartbroken. And Jim, who's beginning to think about retiring didn't want to get another dog because he was hoping we'd be able to travel and so forth. He finally changed his mind, however, and we've just gotten two wonderful puppies (all the way from Ohio), so life is good and also VERY BUSY!!!!!

Question?

Hi Rebecca,
We are trying to find out where Ada (Porter) Allen is buried in Danby and I was wondering if you might know. Her family line is as follows;

Rachel Bromley (daughter or Joshua) mother of Hortense Odell who was the mother of twins Ida and Ada Porter

Rachel Bromley 2nd marriage to a man named Odell, her first marriage was to a David Odell who died years before Hortense was born (We are not sure who Hortense father actually was but he was supposed to be a relative of David Odell)

Hortense Odell married Isaac Porter

Ada Porter:
b. 19 Jul 1857,
Wallingford, VT (birth record)
m. 8 Jul 1874, Wallingford, VT, Horace D. Allen
(marriage record)
d. 5 Apr 1924, Danby, VT (death record); no burial records of gravestones in Rutland Co., for either Ada or Horace. Bet they were buried on their own land.

This Ada and her husband Horace are who we are looking for. Any ideas?
Hope you can follow this.
Thank you very much
Jess

RE: Gunther/Guenther grave
Hi Rebecca, it was raining pretty hard while we were in the cemetery yesterday. My daughter and I are searching out the graves. I will go into the office and check to see if his wife is in there and if so I will let you know any info I find out. Jan

Esther Miller
Good evening,
I got a picture of Esther's headstone today in Bridport Central, VT, (very hard to read) and she is buried beside Eunice Daney (maybe Dana?) and no other stones in this area. I will add Eunice too.
Alan
