Bio and Links
Bio Photo The life of a person is more than the dash between two dates. It is my hope that the memorials which I create or manage can make the individuals life fuller, even if just linking to family members or adding a few tidbits of information. Researching and including other family information makes them more than graves, they are people. Suggestions are welcome but please submit them using the edit button at the upper right corner of each memorial.
Even when transcribing cemeteries I work hard to link other family members.
I live in the northwestern mountains of North Carolina and have work primarily in cemeteries there. A focus in the past was Carolina Memorial Park in Concord, North Carolina. There are 30,000 graves but only about 19,000+ documented. I've done more than 4,000 of those. Much of my family is buried there.
My current focus is a Jewish cemetery in Maryland and documenting a Concentration Camp in Germany. This will be a two year project.

I'm not about numbers. For seven years I cared for my elderly mother who had Alzheimer's. She wanted to go out but I could not trust a Mall or other public places, so we went to cemeteries where I took pictures. During the evenings, when I could not leave the house, I would upload the pictures to my computer and fill out spreadsheets. Since her passing two years ago I am not as active and have given a lot of time to upload my backlog of pictures, which I have reduced from over 4,000 to about 1,000. It's time consuming as I edit ever picture I upload. I am not related to most of my memorials.

My family can be traced back 46 generations to County Leichester, England. The family is English/Norman. They came to England with William after the Battle of Hastings in 1066. The photo above is my ancestor, Sir Nicholas Purefoy, buried in The Church of St. Michael and all Angels in Fenny Drayton, Co. Leicestershire, England. The spelling of my name is the most rare of the three family groups: Purefoy, Purifoy and Peurifoy. The early Purefoys came to Jamestown, VA in 1621.

On my paternal side I am interested in the Peurifoy, Purifoy, Purefoy, Scott and Suther families.
For my maternal side are Statons, Stiller's,and Moores (from Stanly Co, NC).
My wife is from the Byrd and Carr families of Duplin County, NC.

Friends, you are invited to visit the memorial page for our son

Thank you all for your prayers, friendship and care. It is appreciated. You are also invited to visit the memorials of my grandmother Lillian Scott Peurifoy, my mother
Hazel Staton Peurifoy and Father Robert Eugene Peurifoy.

Robert,

I added the information in Nathaniel's biography. Would you like me to transfer the memorial page to your care?

Hi Robert, Thanks for answering me. You said you can not remove sister that I need to ask Cindy. Who is that? How do I write her. I thought since you were the owner, you had to remove things. Baxter's parents were not married, so he did not have any brothers or sisters. He was Grace's only child. Thanks for your help. Liz

RE: Henriette Behrendt
Dear Robert;

Thank you for your response, much appreciated.

Yes, Henriette was family - she was my cousin's wife's mother. If would you be willing to transfer her memorial, we would appreciate it - as I am working with the family to build memorials to those lost.

Thank you for letting me know about the Find A Grave page for Bernberg... how does this work, and how to add Henriette? Could you help us?

Also, we have many family were perished in the Shoah (camps, killing centers, etc) - any suggestions on finding info as to existing lists, or names of the victims?

Thank you again for you help and kind response.

Best,
Tina

Honoring Their Lives
Appreciative
Hi Robert, thank you for letting me know the place of rest for Corporal Dillon Baldridge, his memorial has been updated with the information. You are welcome to help write his story for the memorial if you would like. I prefer memorials that I create to not only have an obituary but details that family and friends would find comforting in the years ahead in the event they saw their loved ones memorials or legacies. It is always so devastating to see our soldiers killed like this while doing their job and helping a country gain independence. My heart is so heavy for the families of all three of our US soldiers from the 101st Airborne Division killed that day. Helen Murphy, Nashville, TN

I'm still working on my ancestry page and FG. Keeps me busy for sure! Thanks for all that you have done on FG! You have helped many of us on our searching!Hope you have a great weekend !

RE: Ravensbruck
Thanks for all your hard work, and please accept my condolences on your family losses, especially Nathan. I also have a diabetic son. He recently overdosed on insulin when his doctor changed his Lantus to Toujeo and neglected to inform him one unit was triple the dose of Lantus.

Oddly enough, I'm very familiar with Boone, N.C. My husband has family that owns a Christmas Tree Farm in Crumpler. We've been to the Asheville Mountain Dance & Folk Festival, and even to a very rustic barn clogging session with local musicians.
