I respond to SAC's as I am able, please be patient; anything sent via e-mail is up to date as of 3/15/17.

Please don't send obits if there is already obit like material on the page. Rest assured I will get to your request. Edits sent via the new system get done faster, you can check to see if I have approved or declined your submission.

Cemeteries are very quiet peaceful places to me. I would like to think that each person that comes before us has something vital to pass on. This is my effort to connect people to make sure that our life stories are carried on, long after we are gone.

If you find something wrong in my listings, no matter how tiny, please send a SAC or e-mail me so I can fix it.

You can see some of the last names in my research by looking in my virtual cemeteries. I do very limited research on my husband's family with the last names of Neakrase and Smith (yeah, unique and ubiquitous).

While I am a native Californian my ancestors hail from: Cape Giradeau County, Missouri (both sides!); Coalgate and Coal County, Oklahoma; Ireland; Namdalseidel, Norway; and Nanikon, Switzerland.

Newby Information
Hi Megan,

Thanks for the additional information on the Milton and Nancy HASTINGS Newby family. I edited the memorial to include their sixth child George who died in infancy.

I appreciate your attention to detail, we should all strive for accurate and complete (when possible) information on memorials.

Kind Regards,

RE: Belated Thanks!
I live in Wisconsin but I travel to Lewis Co KY every other year to work on transcribing cemeteries wwhere my relatives are buried. I would rather not transfer the memorial at this time but would be happy to accept any edits. Of course, if it is a great grandfather or closer relative, Find A Grave policy would dictate that I must transfer it to you. There are many stones that are not readable and many that with more gentle cleaning can be identified but that will be in another year or two. This is auch a fascinating county for cemeteries.

Thanks, Kristin

Thomas Cropper/Mt Zion Cemetery/Lewis Co KY
Our farm joins this cemetery in Lewis Co. so I went hunting for your Thomas Cropper 1861-1926 earlier this week since it did not appear that anyone had helped you yet.

I did not find a marker for either his wife Mary or him. There are several unreadable markers and many marked by field stones and I'm sure some with no marker in the cemetery. You can just see an indent in the ground and you know it's a grave.

I think I found all of his siblings that are buried in the cemetery and parents/grandparents/etc.

Sorry I couldn't find your guy!

None to be Forgotten
Denler Family
Thank you so much for your nice note - they are few and far between! Notes like yours keep me going! I am going thru the entire state of Iowa and - after almost two years - can see a light at the end of the tunnel!!

Keep your chin up. I am a 9 year breast cancer survivor and had a friend with lung cancer. They removed one entire lung and one third of the other and he lived another 20+ years (he was much older (60+) when diagnosed). Pray to St. Peregrinn and St. Jude (doesn't matter if you're Catholic or not). Do a google search - you'll find specific prayers for both.

many evergreen edits
Megan, hope the move went well. Getting tired of my many tiny edits for locations? Hope not; am slowly moving through section by section. You beat me by several years.
