Bio Photo I locate Mexican War, Civil War and Spanish American War Veteran graves in Orange County, California. As a Land Surveyor I place highly accurate GPS coordinates on the grave locations and photograph the grave markers to incorporate into FindAGrave and assist the Orange County California Genealogical Society (OCCGS) for the biographies they are writing on these Veterans.

RE: Westminster
Hi Charles: Nice you have a "in" with the ladies at Westminster.

I don't have a subscription to Billiongraves, but am able to find things anyway. There have been quite a few memorials entered in Westminster, so it may be helpful in finding some that you are looking for. Unfortunately, I entered whole lawns when I was working there, so you will have to walk the lawns if I entered a location. I think I entered locations at that cemetery, because that was before the crazy guy came on the scene. Westminster was the first place I worked. There will be a few areas that I did later, that I didn't enter a location. Just message me on those and I'll see if I can help you out. Chris

RE: Westminster
Hi Charles: I'll try to help. I don't have as good of records there and on a good part of them I put the section on those. There are a few that I have records of where they were. Let me know, the ones you have trouble on and I'll do my best.

The problem with all these cemeteries is that they have been purchased by Dignity, and they are nasty about giving information. Fairhaven has gotten horrible since Dignity bought them. Westminster has always been bad, that is why I stopped going there. Part of their problem is that they aren't computerized, everything is on 3 x 5 cards which makes it time consuming to look things up. I know why findagrave member that goes there once a once and they will give him 5 requests a month and that's it. I guess it is better than nothing. I know Duke Fuller and been able to get a few graves from them for time to time. You might also look on and see if any of them are posted there. It would at least give you a lawn and an approximately location to find them. Good luck. Chris

RE: Melrose Abbey
You're very welcome. Yes, I pretty much did most of the mausoleum. There was another volunteer that had done part of it, but then he got kicked out of Findagrave for a threatening bio etc.

You probably wonder why I don't put locations on my work. Well, it's because of that member that got kicked out. He threatened me, said he carried a gun, and then set outside of the cemetery for weeks trying to see who I was. I didn't want him to know where I was working, so I don't put locations on anything I do. Same with Fairhaven, he did some work there too. He thought he owned all the graves anywhere in Orange County. He was really nasty. He continued sending me threatening messages and setting outside the cemetery.

Anyway, he made me so angry that I started working in the mausoleum area, and then I entered them on spreadsheets and then entered them all at once when I was finished with the mausoleum. I think he thought I was working the lawn areas so he parked himself on the street in back of the cemetery. He would rejoin Findagrave under an alias, but you could always figure out it was him because of the way he spoke (he was deaf) so his writing was different. Look up member D K Lewis 48510590(one of his alias') and you can see what I mean.

Well, probably a lot more information than you wanted to know. Chris
