When my father died in 1967, I realized I might be the oldest living male "Panhorst" in our family. This started my forty year investigation of our family genealogy. My primary database now contains 10,500 individuals, all related to our extended family, including brothers, sisters, uncles, aunts, and cousins for generations in both directions. Most of the data has documentation with sources duly noted. See my db on Roots WorldConnect titled "panhorst". You are welcome to contact me about any of my entries for documentation or sources.|
In the last few years Find-A-Grave has taken hold. I have found Find-A-Grave and it's contributors to be a very helpful and beneficial resource. So I am only to happy to assist others. John Panhorst, Prosperity, SC

|Marian Crenshaw Austin||Crenshaw-Finch Cemetery, Newberry, SC|
Dear Mr. Panhorst,
You created memorials for two gentlemen in the Crenshaw-Finch Cemetery, Newberry County, SC: Adam Chisholm and James Bruton. At the time you made the memorial in 2011, you could not find their graves. I visited the cemetery on March 31, 2017 and because it was early Spring, found both of them. I have posted the photos and will send you copies if you would like. The graves are apart from the main burials. If you stand with your back to Charles and Eunice Crenshaw, look between 12 and 1 where the ground starts to slope away. It helps if you stand on something. You'll see two rocks hunkered down in the leaves about 30 yards away, that will be the two markers. Kind regards, Marian Crenshaw Austin
|Wm & Hope Creasman||Griffith|
I know that my ancestor is David Griffith buried at Head Springs. How did Griffith Griffith be attributed as his brother? I would appreciate any information you can help me with.

You have Elizabeth and Thomas Frick having children over a span of 60 years and it doesn't match up with the family trees I see for them. Thank you.

|QUEEN ELIZABETH||RE: Burnett Update|
Hello John. Thank you for your information.
I dont understand how mollie could have a
tombstone when she is alive, though not
very well, in a nursing home in Greenwood.
Am trying to determine which one. As the
black sheep, i just cant get a straight
answer, even though i had promised her,
20 years ago. Meanwhile, i will see what
progress i can make with your info. Again,
thanks. Queen liz.

|Terry Magyar||family history|
I remember a number of years ago, you shared your family history with me. I forget how, but we're related. My 4th ggrandparents were Robert and Mary Bane GIFFEN. Hopefully, I have all the names from the Giffen book (and more)in my ancestry.com tree.
I have one additional database, to check for Robert's death location. I'll try to get it done this evening.
I spent all week at the Upper Wegee Cemetery taking photos. I did it all with my iPhone. I sure had fun.
|Ancestor Hunter||Rachel Busby|
I have Rachel Busby as the daughter of Needham Busby, not Jacob Busby.
Do you have supporting documentation that Rachel Busby is the daughter of Jacob?
Are you related to the Busby Family?
I am always looking to compare notes with cousins.
Instead of sending to me, you could also send to Find A Grave using this forum:
I'm hoping that by making these cemetery locations more visible, more people will go to them.
