I have been researching my family history since 1995. I love this stuff. It is super exciting to uncover a nugget of information that you didn't know about before.
I live in the Detroit area and in my spare time (hehe) travel to some cemeteries where I have ancestors. On those occasions I try to be prepared to take pictures of some graves of interest, but it is most helpful if you have plot information and even a map, as most of my trips happen on weekends when offices are closed. Any of the pictures or other information that I have posted to findagrave.com can be used by anyone for whatever NON-PROFIT purpose they would like. NO PHOTOS OR INFORMATION MAY BE USED FOR PROFIT PURPOSE. I would appreciate recognition for any information or photos you do use, and if possible, a link or copy of the work.

Paws - There are about 50 photo requests for Acacia Park Cemetery to get through, when it warms up. Like you said "it is most helpful if you have plot information and even a map, " Please click on the link for Acacia Park. It will take you right to their phone number. We have the maps, but section and lot info would speed up the process for us to get the photo taken for you. Thanks.

I am searching my Thompson line from Fenwick, Michigan. Myrtle would be my great aunt. Her maiden name I thought was Thompson. Her birthdate is Aug 26, 1895- died Jan 20, 1966.. These 2 Find A Grave #'s are coming up with her. 22508895 and 9397072 . She had a brother Ferris Earl Thompson he is in Clear Lake Cemetary. I found a death certicate that a J.C. Thompson and Anna Boles are her parents? But as I am searching myself. I found that a Charles James Thompson and Olive A. Sherman are her parents. I am hearing about a CJ Thompson that might have been a war hero?? Any connection here? I think I found a Myrtle C Thompson or Myrtle L. Thompson is her name?? Ferris is my Maternal side of family. He was a postal carrier for many years..... HELP !!

Can I submit again saying cousin or aunt, uncle because that is truth. I honestly thought it would not be a big deal.

Sorry I sent you two edit/tranfer requests for Janet Ryan. I found numerous relatives on my Dad's side of the family and got over excited. All the Raes at Roseland Park Cemetery in Berkeley are relatives of mine. I have added them to the virtual cemetery that I created for my Dad. Thank you very much for creating these memorials. I hope you will consider transferring them all to me. If you will, I will send separate requests for each. Thank you

Does any one have the Obit for Jerry. I would like to have a copy along with his sister Beth.
Jerry was a good friend to me when we were kids.
That may be my Daughter's line (Nicole) she just became a member. I'm going to try to get down to Elmwood soon. I'll get some better shots of the Elijah grave stone.

Did you find a grave for Axy? I thought she was buried on the Family property? There is a newspaper report in 1908 of someone digging up the gravesite to find a skull for a barkeeper. ???
Very strange. Did you need some other information. Is she in your direct line? Her dad Bart is in the DAR datebase. Ron

Hi, Did Tom ever give you an anwser?
Elijah Goodell at Elmwood Cemetery
Do you by chance have a larger picture of the monument that is sitting adjacent to Elijah's stone? I can read that it says "May A, wife of," which I find peculiar, because his wife was Axy/Achsah/Eche. Do you know if there are any other Goodells buried near him?
Then in 1973, Elijah’s descendant, Dr. Blanche E. Goodell, retired Wayne State University Professor, died. Members of her family honored her request to have the gravestone moved to Detroit’s historical Elmwood Cemetery.
