I got hook on genealogy after talking to my Grandfather (George E. Deskins) about the "Good Old Days" and how he had a story about everyone and everything. I started by researching only my immediate family but it has escalated to years of research, meeting wonderful people, hearing amazing stories and with much help from other dedicated researchers. After joining FAG it keeps getting better and better.
I hope that all of realize that we all are related and should treat everyone the way we want to be treated.
My main research is on all the Deskin, Deskins and Deskines lines, but I also do Jackson and Matney
This wonderful tool of FAG is out of this world, I want to thank all the fabulous people that have help me in so many ways. I would not of had the opportunity to meet many of my relatives, as well as others if not for FAG. There is no way I can ever thank many of you, researcher before me, people willing to share info as well as photos and their lives.
I would also like to make a point, this is not a genealogical site, but it gives us a wonderful opportunity to connect our relatives, showing really how small our world is, so I hope that some that feel they don't want to transfer for whatever reason and this is your right, perhaps think that MOST of us, do not do it for numbers but because we appreciate the honor of caring for our relatives like I do. When I hear about my relatives even thou I have never met them, it's like knowing them. Hope this makes sense.

B= buried The date of death is Jul 31,1967
You can check this our by going to his page on our web site
You can also see proof who his mother is by opening the DA2496 under documents. She is buried in Orange Hill also. Thanks for helping us find him. We now have found and posted the burial sites of over 54,000 of those who died in Vietnam.
I too am one of those people who loves genealogy and walking thru cemeteries taking pictures. It was great when Find A Grave gave us a place to put our work.

James Anderson Blair Cemetery
Hi Sue, do you know the location of this cemetery. If so, can you put it on the map. It is easy. If you go to the cemetery on Find A Grave and add location, you can move the cursor to the exact position. It will add location plus GPS. Several small cemeteries are to be moved according to the Mgr. at the large cemetery on Rt 65, Dempsey Branch. That was several years ago due to Coal Mining. The old Dempsey home was torn down. Presently a Garbage Dump. Entrance at the RR tracks in the curve. A bank is up on the hill o the new Hwy. Also a tunnel that goes through the Mtn. The Dempsey place was the far Right Corner. It had a walk bridge that went over the creek, according to my Dad who is in the photo on Resa Dempsey-Vinson's Memorial. Alvah Vinson (son) used to take my Dad hunting in the area.

Thank You for your hard work.

RE: thanks
I am not related to the Toombes Family but Irene's daughter Lucille was married to John R. Bunton. John's brother Jack was married to my 2nd cousin, Mae Johnson Bunton. A little side note....I was born in 1960 and Lucille Bunton signed my Vacation Bible School Card when I was 5 years old. It was a very small world in our home town of Rendon, TX. LOL

RE: thanks
Hi Sue,
Thanks for the message, I love to share but sometimes get carried away & overdo. I've been doing family research for around 34 years & have a large accumulation of Death Certificates & Tombstone Pic's (6,375 DC's & well over 1,3oo Tombstone pic's. I automatically share the TS pic's whenever I find one that someone needs. I have your Photo Request page saved to my computer so I can check it from time-to-time, I'll make a note to not send you any more Death Certificates unless you request it. I like DC's because they contain a wealth of information & are a primary source document that verifies the unverified info on the memorials & most times have the date and place of the burial of the individual. I was born & raised on Pigeon Creek, Mingo County, WV., but I now live in Prince George County, VA. Over the years I've made many trips "home". On the trips between the years of 2000 & 2010 I photographed tombstones in about 22 cemeteries on Pigeon Creek, Fairview in Williamson,Forest Lawn in Logan County & Mt. View at Maker, Mingo Co. Those last three, I was overwhelmed by their size & limited my picture taking. Now, the bad news is that I'm a very old man with health problems and can no longer drive, so I think there may not be any more Photo trips. {:(]

Larry R. Deskins
Hi Sue:

Memorial #116799321 - Larry R. Deskins.

Larry was not buried in Most Blessed Sacrament Cemetery. I spoke to his wife and she said Larry was cremated and his ashes were given back to his family.

If you need more information, please let me know.

Please make necessary changes on his memorial.
