|Spaceman Spiff||RE: Bay Pines|
By the way, I was re-reading our prior conversation below & wanted to say that I've just got a new computer & have spent the last week or so getting it set up, and the thing with photos posting sideways just happened to me yesterday when I was uploading my headstone photos! (That is, I noticed they were *going* to post sideways when the upload function shows you the preview & allows a caption, but I fixed them before finalizing the posts).
I think the issue depends on a couple of things-- 1) which orientation your camera used when it took the photos; 2) whether you change/set the orientation with a photo-editing program or just by using the rotate feature in the file explorer section of your computer. (At least, with a Windows-based computer). I'm pretty sure the ones I merely rotated in file explorer are the ones which were trying to post sideways, but once I opened & re-saved them using my photo-editor they posted correctly.
Just thought I'd mention it, in case it helps.

Hope you are doing well.
While doing my photo-claims today (well, yesterday, considering it's 2:30 am now) I noticed that the one you claimed was missing the row number. I have edit capabilities for all plots at Bay Pines so I just edited it to add the row to help you find it. (While looking it up on the V.A. site I noticed, however, that they have his name spelled as "Breisemeister" instead of "Briesemeister" as shown on FindAGrave. Not sure which is correct or which will be on his marker.
Anyway, just a heads-up.
Happy New Year!

|Spaceman Spiff||RE: Photo request for Robert Stephen Oste at Bay Pines|
Thank you very much. Yes, I noticed that you weren't the first person to have posted a headstone photo, and saw afterward that Vero had made a comment on the requester's profile regarding his multiple photo requests. Very strange. Thanks again for making room so I could post mine and thus eliminate the latest photo request. Hopefully they won't request any more.
As for the photos uploading sideways, it seems like I remember that happening to me a few years ago, but it hasn't occurred for a long time now. I think it has something to do with the camera's vertical/horizontal orientation not "translating" to the computer's and/or website's orientation. I use a Windows-based PC, and it seems like I used to prevent this by going into the file location and temporarily turning the photo sideways and then back to its correct orientation again, before uploading it. But it hasn't happened to me for a very long time, hence my memory being a little fuzzy about it.
Hope it works out, and thanks again for your help!
|Spaceman Spiff||Photo request for Robert Stephen Oste at Bay Pines|
I fulfilled a photo request today for Robert Stephen Oste at Bay Pines. However, when I try to upload the photo it's telling me the 5-photo max has already been reached. Also, I see that you and another person have already added photos. Your photo, however, is sideways. Can you please delete your sideways photo so that I can post the photo I took today for the request? This will then delete the photo request from the site.
Thanks very much.
Thanks so much for the photo! I appreciate your time and effort!
