I enjoy visiting cemeteries, especially the older, neglected ones out in the woods or around churches. A different life abounded near these old cemeteries. Any pictures I have on this site may be freely used.|

Thanks for your message. I'm not sure where he served, but I'm going to see if I can find out. Wouldn't that be something! I'll post back if I find an answer.

Thank You! I appreciate your kindness and all that you are doing on Find A Grave. I live so far away and my husband is disable so, we are not able to make the trip to see about the cemetery. So, I am seeing through your eyes. Find A Grave is such a wonderful tool to help others.

Mr. Brooks, there was a large tree that fell over some graves. Did you remove the tree? I have been told that there was a large stone with some O'Banion names, dates & etc. on it. I am so glad to see new photos of the cemetery. Do you think that I could get the Historical Society to spray the cemetery and kill off the vines & etc. I will gladly pay for the spray. There is also, another cemetery there that the slaves were buried in. One of my great uncles did a lot of research on our O'Banion Family and that is how I came to learn about this cemetery and property. There is also another O'Bannon-Lawrence Cemetery in Marshall, Fauquier County, Virginia. Capt. William O'Banion b. 1729 d. Oct. 19, 1807 is buried there. Thanks again for your kindness and concern for this cemetery.

Thank you for the photo of the tombstone for Bannon Freeman. I am delighted to get a photo of any tombstone in the O'Bannon family Cemetery. My great-grandfather is Jesse Lee O'Banion is a part of this family.

The Bloodworth-Sketoe Cemetery is the same as the Ivey Cemetery, I believe. I think it just has been listed on Find-A-Grave as 2 different cemeteries. The one I took pictures of is off the main road in Ivey where the golf course is. There is a clump of trees in the golf course. If you are heading toward Milledgeville, it's on the left side of the road. You drive up the driveway of the big house and the trees are on the left.
The Bloodworth children buried there were siblings of my maternal grandmother.
