THE RECORDING OF A CEMETERY
BY THELMA GREENE REAGAN
Today we walked where others walked
On a lonely, windswept hill;
Today we talked where others cried
For loved ones whose lives are stilled.
Today our hearts were touched
By graves of tiny babies;
Snatched from the arms of loving kin,
In the heartbreak of the ages.
Today we saw where the grandparents lay
In the last sleep of their time;
Lying under the trees and clouds -
Their beds kissed by the sun and wind.
Today we wondered about an unmarked spot;
Who lies beneath this hollowed ground?
Was it a babe, child, young or old?
No indication could be found.
Today we saw where Mom and Dad lay.
We had been here once before
On a day we'd all like to forget,
But will remember forever more.
Today we recorded for kith and kin
The graves of ancestors past;
To be preserved for generations hence,
A record we hope will last.
Cherish it, my friend; preserve it, my friend,
For stones sometimes crumble to dust
And generations of folks yet to come
Will be grateful for your trust.

WILL AND TESTAMENT

WHEN I DIE I WILL NOT END
THO MY BODY TURNS TO DUST.
I'LL TRAVEL WIDELY THROUGH THE STARS
WITH FEWER CARES, I TRUST.
SO FIND A PLACE TO LAY MY BONES
MY MUSCLE, HAIR, AND SKIN.
THEN PLANT A TREE ATOP MY CHEST
FOR LIFE TO START AGAIN.
LET HER ROOTS ENTWINE MY RIBS
AND TEAR APART MY COFFIN.
IT MATTERS NOT THE LEAST TO ME,
I'LL BE IN HER BRANCHES, LAUGHIN'.
WHEN I'VE PUNCHED MY TIME ON EARTH,
WITH NO MORE NEED OF CLOCKS,
I'LL GO TO FIND THE NEXT NEW ME.
PLANT THIS LAST ME IN A BOX.

Jerry,
Thank you so much for the picture of my aunts grave in Martin. I do not live in North Dakota anymore. But it is nice to have great North Dakotans such as yourself volunteering to help out.

Del

RE: Walnut Hill Cemetery Frank & Anna Weed
Is Frank and Anna Weed ancestors of yours? They are my mother-in-law's great grandparents. Do you know if Charles and Philadelphia Terbush is related to Frank and Anna Weed? There headstones are located next to each other at Walnut Hill Cemetery, Kingman, Ks.

Thank You
Brenda

RE: Melvin Baumbach
You will notice that there were two Melvin A Baumbachs, one in California and one in Washington. This is the one is Washington one an you seem to be related to the California Melvin.

Um, I will when I get home. Sir, you don't have to be so rude about it. It was a mistake.

You are welcome. I put the stone photo on Emma Weippert Huft on your memorial. You probably want to take the sister off William's as his spouse. Too many Emma's.
