|Thanks to a lady named Annette and the photo she placed on Find A Grave, I was able to break through a brick wall in my quest to document the family tree. Since then I've placed a number of requests. I am very grateful to the folks who took pictures and filled those requests.|
I pretty much limit myself to taking pictures in the San Francisco National Cemetery in the Presidio of San Francisco. It's an absolutely beautiful place with lawn that would make any gardener envious and with breathtaking views of the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco Bay.
If there is anything I put up on this web site that needs correcting or that you would like me to remove, please let me know. If you would like me to transfer a memorial to you, please let me know. Be sure you are logged in and then use the edit tab. With the exception of my own family's memorials, I would be happy to make the transfer.
Through Find A Grave I've been privileged to come in contact with some really wonderful people. This is a team effort and it is amazing how this database has grown. It is fun, even though it can occasionally be awkward when I tell someone I take tombstone pictures. :-) There have been many kind e-mails and public messages. While it is always nice to get a pat on the back, that is not why I do it. I do it in the hopes that what I do might help others as much as the work of others has helped me. Over the years there have been a few disagreements, very few. With an exchange of private e-mails disagreements usually get worked out. That is part of the teamwork. But I find public messages that are not polite to be uncalled for. I was raised to believe that you praise in public and criticize in private.

You did it! The prefix is gone. Thanks. My dad was in WWII, but he was not known for being military. He was a football coach for our high school. ...If you can remember what you did, please tell me how to make changes. I'm sure something will come up soon.
I didn't know the format was changing. This is a surprise. We'll both be learning together. I have the feeling I like the old way better. It seems easier.

Hi Carol: Thank you for making the transfer. I have a question: How do I remove the CDR prefix in front of his name. I've unchecked the box for prefixes (and clicked Save Changes) but nothing changes. The CDR rank is still there.
The FAQs mention the Suggested Changes button, and I used that to contact you the first time, but that button no longer is on the screen. I'm baffled about this. There must be a way to undo something. Thank you for help.

No problem at all, thank you for being thoughtful to let me know. I'll take another photo for you, anyway, a close-up photo, and post it on his memorial.

You're very welcome. There's a good chance there never was a marker since he is buried alone and doesn't own the plot.

Thank you for your generosity in transferring:
James Wickman # 102728272
to my care.
With your help, I have successfully connected him with one of his two wives.
As I receive more information, I will be adding to Our shared memorial.
With sincerest appreciation,
|Kimberly Shows Phillips||RE: Charles B Fisher # 104640130|
I really don't have any interest in having ownership. Charles B Fisher is just a second cousin in my family tree, that's why I had the information to update.
I appreciate you asking though!
You keep. I was just working on a related abandoned memorial.
Happy hunting, Samantha

Thanks for your message. Mrs.. Devine is being buried on Monday. I planned to complete her memorial once she is interred. She will most likely appear in the gravesite locator on Tuesday or Wednesday. Thanks for taking photos in San Fran Nat. Warm regards.
Carol,Thank you very for his memorial.
