Bio and Links
Bio Photo trying to stay ahead of developers who want to cover historical markers... and the weather, time and vandals that obscure the inscriptions... to honor those that walked before us.

Although I visit cemeteries whenever I travel (to the dismay of others in the car), most of my work is in Vermont, New Hampshire, New York's lower Hudson Valley and Washington State's Skagit County. I've been known to wander off to Massachusetts, Connecticut and Maine given the opportunity.

Whenever possible, I post a photo--a photo makes it real. I also try to list the sources I've used to stitch together family relations or any info that I might find.

Thank you in advance for sending in corrections or additions using the Edit button. I appreciate your updates very much. Although I try to thank and acknowledge all corrections, I may not always have the time. Edits posted in the message area below will be ignored and deleted.
I will not link to those who are listed as burial location unknown or memorials whose placement in a cemetery is supposition (aka plops).

I transfer direct relatives within three generations (that means: your siblings, parents, grandparents, children, and grandchildren). As Richard H so aptly puts it:
"... someone who died 200 years ago could be related to thousands of people." Please use the virtual cemetery feature to group your family memorials.

My activity is seasonal--I use the New England winters to create new memorials with the images I've collected the rest of the year. There are several thousand waiting to be processed... Click here to see the memorials I've added in the past few 7 days.

RE: Julia May Clough Chesley in Hyde Park
Hello Nicole,
Would you like a transfer of the memorial?
Here is the information that I give when I can't find a memorial for Union.
I called the cemetery and they will only look up memorial if you send a self addressed envelope to:
Union Cemetery PO Box 467 Hyde Park NY 12538

If you enter location where the memorial is I will try to photo it for you
They have sections, but most of the signs are missing for them.

RE: Hildreth Cemetery, Littleton NH
Sorry the lighting was so bad. It was cloudy all morning but when I got there the sun was blazing and nary a cloud in sight. If only the stones had been engraved on the other side, there would have been no problem.

Putting the requested photos on as I type. Unfortunately, the stones sit in deep shade against a background of open, brilliantly sunlit lawn, so there are contrast issues.

Ancestry has a photo of her headstone (the bottom of Edward B. Strong's headstone).

Hannah Clough
Found several Clough graves none were Hannah. But there was 1 buried in the ground in the same plot as the others very deep and were unable to dig up. I have pictures of them all just email me and I'll send them to you. Sorry

Marcel Theriault
I thought you may be interested in seeing this article about Marcel. I do not send it because I wish to see it added to his memorial, simply because you may want to have it in his file. I created the memorial for Kathryn L Thomas along with her family in Nashua.

Best wishes,
Shan Clark in Wilton

RE: Bridges in Vermont
Nicole, Thank you for the updates on the Bridges. It helped fill in the blanks in the Windsor Town records.

RE: Marie K Chapman
Wow! Thank you for going above and beyond to help! Your act of kindness for a complete stranger is very much appreciated! From the info you provided (her maiden name and household members) I was able to find her birth place, her parents memorials and her grandparents names! That's pretty crazy. Please let me know if I can ever return the favor. You need a photo request in Oklahoma City, you got it! Have a wonderful day :) RC

You're an inspiration
My husband has been saying how we need to start exercising and after reading your profile here at Find A Grave, we've decided to walk in the local graveyards and take pictures for those who have requests out there.

Exercise is a lot easier when I'm doing a job and not just "exercising." Sorry, I'm a Yankee and everything has to have a practical purpose.
