FindaGrave has some incredible research I never would have uncovered, but take heed, I've also found Ancestry.com creeping in here with less than stellar research and records. |
I began researching my genealogy using the research of my grandparents. I found some errors and corrected these and marched on with my research. Been at this for probably over 20 years depending on how you want to calculate it. I find genealogy is just a puzzle, and the only way to solve it is with evidence.
I am a retired U.S. Army, Ranger and Special Forces Team Sergeant (Green Beret).

|streets56||RE: Dorcas Dillingham Sprague Earle|
Oh gosh, I guess you would have to be in my brain to know what I meant. Memorial #147033692, Dorcas Dillingham Sprague Earle, b. 31 Mar 1662 and d. 23 Jan 1742. She was married to Ralph Earle #85379384. This Dorcas Dillingham was not a Sprague or married a Sprague, at least not that I have found in my extensive research of the Earle family. She was the daughter of Henry Dillingham. Now, her husband, Ralph Earle, his mother was Dorcas Sprague, she was b. 1638 and the daughter of Francis Sprague and married to Ralph Earle (1632-1716), the father of Ralph Earle #85379384.
This can be found in Pliny Earle's book, " The Earle Family: Ralph Earle and His Descendants" on pages 20 and 26.
Hope I was clearer,

As I was working on a project this morning regarding the Earle Family I came across this memorial. Dorcas Dillingham, the daughter of Henry Dillingham was the wife of Ralph Earle, Jr. (-1718)(26). and Dorcas Sprague, the daughter of Francis Sprague is the wife of Ralph Earle, Sr.(1632-17160)(20).

Thank you, all of the information that I've copied came from familysearch.org and http://ethnicelebs.com (for American actor Jonathan Taylor Thomas) too.

What is the memorial number for this person. Does he have the same exact birth as given in the record I added. Is he buried in that cemetery also? Why do you think your memorial is not the same person. Hopefully not because there is a York/Westmoreland geographical variation. Many of these soldiers traveled far and wide after the war. Some as far as Montana, with land grants.
The data I attached as a flower note is very specific with dates and cemetery. If you wish them removed and decline to add in the bio, that's your privilege. But I will not let this valuable information I worked hard to find for this person, be deleted into oblivion.
Regretfully, I will present your objection and my records to the administration for their judgement on how to display..

Glen - I've gone ahead and removed the James and Phebe as the parents of Nicholas. Can you tell me who his parents actually were?
|Sharon Leon||RE: Re: 17866929|
That's true. I've wondered if that could be why Sarah's daughter, who married Judge King, didn't have any biological children from that marriage. It looks like the children she and Judge King raised may have all been Skinner branch orphans. If I remember correctly, Judge King was buried near Sarah, which, of course, doesn't prove anything either. Sharon

Thanks Glen, I understand your frustration. There's way too much copying of unproven data that goes on. Sharon
