Bio and Links
Bio Photo Son of Donald and Elizabeth (Streamer) Fisher of New Harmony, Indiana. I have lived in many states and countries during my life, but I have always thought of New Harmony as my home. I now live in Centralia, Washington where my children Sabra and Stewart also live with their families.

I have been doing genealogy for many years and was very excited to find the Find A Grave site and to see that it is free. I'm planning to work on it as I have a lot of monuments/markers, individual and family photos and information to add to the site. Family lines include Fisher, Streamer, Hunter, Stewart, Harrison, Pote, Wade, Nash, Eaton, Davis, Goodman & Edwards.

Jeffries Family Cemetery - Posey County Indiana
While out working this week in the field i noticed a tiny cemetery that didn't appear to be marked on www.findagrave.com I went back after work and took pictures and started uploaded them to the site only to realize you had already did this but that your GPS coordinates are incorrect so it never showed on the cemetery finder map. The corrected coordinates should be 37.912709, -87.981431. Your description of the cemetery is correct but you just have the wrong cords. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask.

RE: Morman E. Fisher
Thanks David - that would be a good thing. I sure would like to find a photo of Morman E. if you can think of any one who might have one.

Best Regards.

RE: Gwaltney cemetery
I'm frustrated because of errors that I can't seem to fix. I ran across your name while researching my Gwaltney family history; there were several names and I just picked one. I am not a computer whiz, but maybe you can help. My family history goes back to 1635 (Jamestown)--1810 in Posey county. My ancestors were true pioneers. My family has three pioneer cemeteries in Posey county: John Gwaltney, the dad, Benjamin, son #2, Amariah, son #5, son #3 was my gr-gr-gr-grandfather; so Benjamin is one of my great uncles. The problem is that Find A Grave, and "Ancestor" has Benjamin's grave in section 9 Robb township; when it's actually in section 30 Center township. The fellow who contributed the Gwaltney cemetery section 9 has everything wrong, but I can't reach him to correct it. His name is Chris Mills. When I enter info about Benjamin's cemetery it gets mixed up with the info from section 9. Check the Benjamin Gwaltney cemetery; I was able to finally get some info entered. Thanks, Vince

Benjamin Gwaltney cemetery
There IS wrong info about the location-in fact it's all wrong. The Benjamin Gwaltney cemetery, there is one, and its coordinates are: lat 38deg 4'0.38deg N, long 87deg 47' 57.42deg W; this is in section 30, Center township, Posey county, west of Metz road and south of Hillcrest Lane. Find a Grave has him in the Gwaltney cemetery in section 9 Robb township-WRONG. Benjamin 1800-1886, Sarah his first wife and other members of his family are buried in Benjamin's cemetery. There are three known Gwaltney cemeteries in Posey county, IN; they are Benjamin's, Amariah's his brother, (sec 9 Robb) and John's his dad, (sec 13 Robb).

Mr. David Fisher I just did a little research on a Louisville resident who owned an estate called Linden Hill . His only son was Jacob Geiger and I went back a few generations and stopped at Fisher names. Jacob Geiger's home is in a rehab and almost ready to open as a Bed and Breakfast. I live just to the rear and have lived here all of my life and love the history of the area. This home is said to have been built in the late 1790s and I wondered if any of your family have ever heard of it. This neighborhood " Butchertown " even has a street named Geiger Street.
