Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am a native Texan, born and reared in Northeast Texas. I have been researching my families for about thirty years, making me the family historian.
I have spent weeks, days, and hours in many states researching the courthouses and walking the cemeteries looking for my family.
Just recently I began placing memorials to my family members on findagrave; a wonderful website. The majority of my postings are my family.
I try to acquire photographs of my relatives; this makes me feel as if I actually know them.
I am a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Daughters of the Republic of Texas and genealogy is my passion.

Your tombstone stands among the rest
Neglected and alone
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished marble stone
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood and bone
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so
I wonder if you lived and loved
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot
And come to visit you

RE: Transfer Request

Thank you for the transfers. My wife and I will be buried in the same plot as Mora B. and Ella Claiborne Fariss and just yards from the plot of H. F. Fariss and Mary Elizabeth Brooks.

When I was a young boy, I used to walk down to Mora B.'s house; and he would give me King Leo stick candy from the large round tin. We had the Fariss brothers and sisters reunion at my house in the 1940s with a group photograph on our front steps. My sister and I are in the photograph.

Thank you for your work, and I will see that these memorials are well maintained. We do not want them to leave the family if at all possible.

Do you happen to know if Kizzie was first married to Forrest B. ROWELL? I found a marriage record for what appears to be Kizzie: 24 Jan 1904 Polk Co AR. We've never found any other info on Forrest B. ROWELL, so we believe he died shortly after their marriage and Kizzie then married Joseph HARWELL.

James F. Farris
Regarding James F. Farris (23 Nov 1749, St. Helena, Beaufort, SC - 28 Feb 1816, Maury, TN), I have a handwritten note by Mora Brooks Fariss, 2nd Gr-Grandson of James F. Farris, that James was a juror at the original inquest into the death of Meriwether Lewis at Grinder's Stand near Hohenwald, Lewis, TN.

Perhaps you have a record of this.

I would love to talk or correspond with anyone who has stories or information with proper citations for John Martin Shrum, his ancestors and descendants. Thank you again for all your hard work.

Emma would you please correct the info on Mary, her parents were William Craig and Sarah Jane (Dowdle). Their memorial numbers are 55537848 for William, and 55537859 for Sarah. Would greatly appreciate the correction. This way you can also tie her in with her parents. Thanks, Bob
