Findagrave has a wonderful feature that allows memorial holders to update many requests at a time, but only if done via the Edit tab --- so please try that before leaving information on the profile page! This feature is a true blessing.|
*** REQUESTS FOR CORRECTIONS ***
UPDATE REQUESTS RECEIVED BY EMAIL:
Please keep your requests via the "other" information option to a minimum, as the workload has become unsustainable.
Over zealous senders may find theirs deleted. Hope they switch to messages via flowers. Thank you.
REQUESTS TO ADD OBITUARIES:
Obits under copyright should be summarized and will not be posted, so please do not send them. In most cases, there is a 72-year or longer time period.
If you wish to download one of my tombstone pictures, you may do so for personal usage and should give proper credit. Under no circumstances should they be added to other sites (such as Ancestry) as if they are your own.
Photographs of individuals require PERMISSION, and if lifted from here without appropriate permission or credit are subject to licensing fees.
REQUESTS FOR TRANSFERS
Please follow Findagrave guidelines to be within a few generations and a direct descendant. For older ones, please communicate the reason.
As the number of memorials I manage increases, I sometimes elect to transfer without being asked. If you received a transfer and do not wish to manage it, please transfer back.

Dear Mrs. Harrell-Sesniak,
I respectfully request a transfer of the above Find A Grave memorial for William T. Haines. He is my 2x great grandfather. Thank you kindly for considering this request.

I think you might have received an edit request for this already because it would not let me enter but I believe you have Hannah Johnson attached as a spouse to her father-in-law, Eleazer Johnson Sr.(1718-1792), instead of the son, Eleazer Johnson Jr. (1746-1788), Find A Grave Memorial# 41187838.
Thank you for all your work on Find A Grave

Thanks for getting back to me Mary..
I'll be happy to maintain the listing - but don't know what that entails, so I may need a bit of guidance (are there guidelines or a tutorial or something?)
I will certainly leave the obit notice in place - it was nice of your mother to go to the trouble of finding it and posting it.
One follow-up question: do you know if there is a map the graves in Mercer Cemetery - or how I could find someone who lives nearby who could go look? -- There's gotta be a logical reason why the family had a plot all the way over in Trenton. They were from NJ, but lived their entire married life in Philadelphia. (Though, as I recall, their 1st and last child were born in Mercer Co). So I had the idea that maybe their graves are adjacent to those of her family.
I have been banging my head against the cyber wall here trying to figure out whether the middle initial 'P' stands for a maiden name, or whether she was Rebecca Priscilla or some such.
Any hints would be appreciated

I'd like to thank you for posting the entry for my gr-gr grandfather's grave.
2 items: I'd love to know if there is anyone else who has contacted you in regards to this family. I'm fairly new to searching for family roots & I've got a lot of info on more recent side branches, but have pretty much hit a wall with figuring out who Aaron's & Rebecca's families were.
Also, a correction (I think): I'm pretty sure "my" Aaron was not a captain of anything. The census & city directories list him as living in Philadelphia with his family, working as a carpenter/builder. He did not, as far as i can tell, serve in the military. So I have no idea why Rebecca's funeral notice lists her as the 'widow of Capt. Aaron Van Kirk'. There was an actual Captain Van Kirk, but he lived in Dennis, Cape May, NJ, had 2 wives & 8 kids (or so) and he died several years after Rebecca. If you have any information on this subject I'd love to hear it.

I have a picture of subject from my G Grand Father's photo album and was wondering if you are related to Charles. I also have a picture of I believe his first wife Maria.
